The Arabian Summer Inglis Chairmans Sale narrative gathered momentum on the eve of entries closing, with the Group 1-performed mare shaping as one of the most compelling highlights of this year’s prestigious auction. Already proven on the track and brimming with broodmare potential, Arabian Summer stands out as a rare offering in the Southern Hemisphere bloodstock market.

A high-class performer from an early age, Arabian Summer built her reputation as a precocious juvenile before training on into a consistent Group-level competitor. From just 15 starts, she has amassed over $1.5 million in prize earnings, registering five wins and five minor placings—figures that underline both her talent and reliability.

Her two-year-old campaign marked her as a filly of significant promise. Runner-up efforts behind subsequent elite performers in the Listed Debutant Stakes and the Group 3 Ottawa Stakes hinted at her ability, before she quickly converted potential into results. She won four of her next five starts as a juvenile, her only blemish coming in the rich Magic Millions 2YO Classic, where she finished fifth behind a top-class field.

Arabian Summer’s crowning juvenile success came in the $1 million Magic Millions National 2YO Classic, where she defeated a deep field that included several future stakes performers. That victory cemented her status as one of the standout youngsters of her generation.

Progression at three further enhanced her profile. She captured the Group 3 Peter le Grand Stakes at Caulfield and later held her own against top-tier opposition, finishing third in the lucrative Sunlight Plate behind multiple Group 1 winners.

By her four-year-old season, Arabian Summer had matured into a genuine Group 1 contender. Her close third-place finish in the Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley—against a field stacked with elite sprinters—was a testament to her continued development. Notably, she finished ahead of several established top-level winners in that contest.

Her recent form has been equally commendable, with all seven of her latest starts coming at Group level. Competing consistently against some of the best sprinters in Australia, she has repeatedly finished within striking distance, reinforcing her class and durability.

Co-trainer Tony McEvoy spoke warmly of the mare, describing her as both talented and professional in her approach.

“She’s a delight to train and there’s more in the tank with her as a race mare,” he said. “She’s got that spark about her, but she’s also very genuine and knows her job.”

From a breeding perspective, Arabian Summer’s pedigree adds another layer of appeal. By Too Darn Hot and out of a Street Cry mare, tracing back to Lonhro, she possesses a bloodline that is widely regarded as ideal for producing high-quality progeny.

Segenhoe’s Peter O’Brien emphasised her physical and genetic attributes, noting her consistency and natural speed, alongside her strong family background. “She’s a very good-looking mare, and we know the family well. She’ll be a valuable addition to any broodmare band,” he said.

Inglis Bloodstock Sales Manager Harry Bailey echoed those sentiments, highlighting her combination of race performance and pedigree as particularly attractive. “She has natural speed and a pedigree that makes her an exciting broodmare prospect,” he remarked.

Arabian Summer will be presented as part of the Segenhoe draft at Riverside on Thursday, May 7, under the established “Where Elegance Meets Excellence” theme that defines the sale.

She joins an already strong catalogue featuring high-profile mares and fillies, reinforcing the Chairman’s Sale’s reputation as a key fixture on the global bloodstock calendar. In recent years, the sale has produced remarkable results, including multi-million-dollar transactions for elite mares, underlining the strength of demand at the top end of the market.

With entries closing and anticipation building, the Arabian Summer Inglis Chairman’s Sale storyline is shaping into one of the defining features of this year’s event—combining elite racetrack performance with exceptional broodmare promise.
