The second race of the Hyderabad Monsoon Races 2025, The Bangalore Turf Club Cup, a Class IV handicap for horses aged five years and above (rated 20 to 45) over 1600 meters, witnessed a masterful performance by Alcahol Free (5Y B M). Ridden by Rafique S K and trained by B Mukesh Kumar, the five-year-old bay mare owned by Mr B E Vasanth Kumar surged to victory in a clocked time of 1:41.629, showcasing both determination and tactical precision on Sunday, October 5, at 1:00 PM.
From the break, Alcahol Free settled just off the pace, biding his time in the early stages while observing the leaders. Approaching the home turn, Rafique S K produced a well-timed drive, unleashing a decisive burst that saw Alcahol Free draw clear in the final 200 meters. The winner’s acceleration proved unmatchable, as she crossed the finish line with authority, leaving the field in awe of his stamina and timing.
Take A Breath (5Y B G), under Sonu Kumar for trainer G Shashikanth, finished a close second in 1:42.168, maintaining pressure on the winner throughout the stretch. Nkalanzinzi (5Y B M), guided by Imran Chisty and trained by G Sandeep, claimed third in 1:43.646, rounding out a competitive top three.
With the Bangalore Turf Club Cup concluded, attention now shifts to The Madras Race Club Cup, set to run at 1:35 PM, promising another exciting test of speed and strategy at Hyderabad Race Club.
