Racing will return to Abu Dhabi Turf Club on Saturday, 14 February evening with a competitive seven-race turf programme scheduled as part of the weekend meeting. The fixture, staged in Abu Dhabi, will feature handicaps and maiden contests across middle-distance and mile trips, with racing set to commence at 17:00 and conclude at 20:00. Horses aged three years and older will contest a varied card combining stamina tests with speed-oriented turf events as the season continues in the capital.
The programme will open with Race 1 – Wathba Stallions Cup Handicap at 17:00 over 2400 metres for a prize of AED 70,000. Alnayer, HK Khanjar, Muntahreer, Rip Tide AA, SS Alahwas and AF Soqrat will contest the longest race on the card, which will provide an early examination of stamina among older runners.
This will be followed by Race 2 – Noble Strain Maiden at 17:30 over 2200 metres with prize money of AED 66,000. Abister, Italy, Shehab Al Gaiah, AF Waa’ed and Khaleeji Ana will compete as several runners seek their first career victory over a testing middle-distance journey.
The action will continue with Race 3 – Masar Al Khail Handicap at 18:00 over 2200 metres for AED 66,000, bringing together L’Amiral La Majori, Triumph AA, Kassou Hipolyte, Sama Al Izz and Katrain De Ghazal in a contest likely to reward consistent performers under handicap conditions.
At 18:30, Race 4 – Ahl Al Ard Cup will be run over 1600 metres for AED 66,000, where Arghad, DH Albahar, AF Estitar, AF Makeen and Alsalam will meet in an open mile event expected to suit runners with tactical speed on turf.
The evening programme will move into its later stages with Race 5 – Arabian Stride Mile Handicap at 19:00 over 1600 metres. BF Gala, Moharram, Nevermore Al Maury, Ruwayda and SS Rawaa will compete in the handicap contest, continuing the sequence of competitive mile races.
Attention will then shift to younger horses in Race 6 – The Classic Turf Maiden, scheduled at 19:30 over 1600 metres for a purse of AED 66,000. Restricted to three-year-olds, the contest will feature A Besta, Alatau, Canonier, Fightforyourright and Frontview as connections seek early-season progress from developing runners.
The meeting will conclude with Race 7 – The Desert Oasis Turf Maiden at 20:00 over 1600 metres, also offering AED 66,000 in prize money. Barons’ War, Bram Stoker, Chef De Partie, Fastnet Mischief and Just will line up in the final race, closing the evening’s programme with another competitive mile contest for older maidens.
The balanced structure of the Abu Dhabi Race Cards 14 February will offer opportunities for both established handicap horses and emerging performers, maintaining competitive depth across all seven races on the turf programme.
