With a vibrant Sunday crowd in attendance, the race delivered a cracking finish, as Knotty Scotty, ridden by Vivek G. and trained by Prasanna Kumar, produced a timely surge to edge ahead and claim victory in 1:26.11.
Maintaining a forward position throughout, Sassy Sarah, also from Prasanna Kumar’s yard and partnered by Shamaz Shareef, made a strong bid in the straight. Despite a determined effort, Sassy Sarah had to settle for second place, finishing in 1:26.39.
The final spot on the podium was secured by Thrill of Brazil, trained by Md Sajid Qureshi and ridden by Imran Chisty, who clocked 1:26.47 with a spirited late effort that kept the pressure on the front-runners.
The Richelieu Plate carried a prize purse of ₹5,10,000, with the winner earning ₹2,54,995. For trainer Prasanna Kumar, it was a rewarding finale to the day, sending out both the first and second finishers—an emphatic statement of stable strength and preparation.
