The sixth race on the Bangalore Turf Club’s vibrant Sunday card, held on June 8, 2025, was the much-anticipated H.H. Krishnaraja Wadiyar Cup—a 1600-meter contest for horses aged four years and above. With the race going off at 4:00 PM and a total prize fund awarded up to the sixth position, the stakes were high, and the competition fierce.

Claiming top honours was the impressive Shamrock, ridden with precision by Suraj Narredu and trained by S. Narredu. The gelding delivered a perfectly timed finish, accelerating in the final furlong to seize control of the race and stop the clock at 1:36.46. The win not only secured ₹10,58,998 in prize money but also the prestigious trophy valued at ₹25,000.

Finishing a close second was Prana, guided by Akshay Kumar and trained by Prasanna Kumar, who crossed the wire in 1:36.85. Despite a valiant effort and a well-judged run, Prana was just edged out in the final strides.

In a thrilling finish for the minor placings, Supernatural, with Vivek G. in the irons for master trainer Pesi Shroff, secured third place in 1:36.87, only two-hundredths of a second behind the runner-up.

With Shamrock’s stellar win now in the books, the day’s focus moves forward to the penultimate race—The Diablo Plate, as the curtain begins to fall on what has been an exhilarating race day at Bangalore. Stay with us for the latest updates.
