The 5th day of the Bangalore Summer Meeting 2025 kicked off in style at Bangalore Turf Club Ltd., where El Alamein claimed a confident victory in the opening race, The Classical Act Plate. This event, run over 1400 meters, was exclusively for 6-year-old and older horses rated 00 to 25, offering a total purse of ₹4,50,000, with the winner’s share being ₹2,25,000.
Trained by Faraz Arshad and expertly ridden by Bhawani Singh, El Alamein surged to the front with determination and held his lead to secure the first spot. The veteran gelding showcased composure and strength in the final furlong to assert his superiority over the field, making a strong statement for the rest of the summer season.
Embosom, trained by V. Lokanath and partnered by V.R. Jagadeesh, chased valiantly and settled for second after looming as a threat approaching the final 200 meters. Though he showed flashes of acceleration, he couldn’t reel in the leader.
Finishing third was Sacred Creator, with Ramswarup in the saddle for trainer Narayana Gowda V. The duo maintained consistency throughout the trip but lacked the final push to trouble the top two.
While there were no surprises in the betting ring, the seasoned form of El Alamein proved decisive in a field that otherwise lacked standout contenders. The gelding’s fitness and tactical ride made the difference on a humid afternoon in Bengaluru.
As the action continues at BTC, eyes now shift to The World No-Tobacco Day Plate, another 1400-meter contest scheduled for 2:30 PM. With several well-matched runners in the fray, the next race promises more excitement as the summer meeting gains momentum.
