The 2025 Longines Global Champions Tour of Cannes is all set to light up the French Riviera from 5 to 7 June, promising a weekend where elite sport meets cinematic spectacle. As the Tour gallops into the iconic city of Cannes—famed for film premieres and luxury yachts—it rolls out the red carpet for some of the biggest names in international show jumping.
Set against the sparkling backdrop of La Croisette and the Port of Cannes, this year’s edition of LGCT Cannes is shaping up to be one of the most star-studded in history. The event will see over 20 former LGCT Grand Prix winners and 12 of the top 20 riders in the current 2025 standings battle for victory under the lights in front of a crowd of more than 15,000 spectators.
The headline acts include a glittering lineup of previous LGCT Season Champions such as Ben Maher, Max Kühner, Harrie Smolders, and Edwina Tops-Alexander, joined by world-class talents like Christian Kukuk, Marcus Ehning, and Maikel van der Vleuten. These equestrian icons will be chasing not only the Cannes title but also crucial championship points and a golden ticket to the Longines Global Champions Super Grand Prix in Prague.
France’s finest will be riding with national pride on home soil, led by Simon Delestre, Julien Epaillard, Julien Anquetin, and Ines Joly. They’ll be joined by a formidable German contingent including Christian Ahlmann, Philipp Weishaupt, Hans-Dieter Dreher, and defending Cannes Grand Prix champion Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann—each with a winning pedigree on the LGCT circuit.
Adding to the suspense are world-class challengers such as Malin Baryard-Johnsson, Eduardo Alvarez Aznar, Sanne Thijssen, Michael Duffy, Michael Pender, and John Whitaker, ensuring that every class is packed with Olympic-level competition.
The spotlight will also shine on the sport’s rising stars, with Sienna Charles, Clara Pezzoli, Max Wachman, and Sara Vingralkova poised to challenge the established elite and make their mark on one of the most glamorous stops on the Tour.
Cannes, nicknamed the City of Stars, offers more than just world-class competition. As part of the Tour since 2006, the event has grown into a beloved Riviera fixture, blending elite sport with dazzling atmosphere. From champagne-lined VIP lounges to picture-perfect evening competitions under the Mediterranean skies, LGCT Cannes is a true fusion of sport and spectacle.
All the action will be streamed live via GCTV, offering global fans front-row access to every round and every thrilling jump-off. With so much at stake, the only question is: who will steal the spotlight in Cannes 2025?
