Exciting Lineup Unveiled for Gulfstream Park May 16 Race Day

Gulfstream Park is gearing up for an exciting race day on May 16th, 2025, featuring a nine-race card packed with competitive action. The event kicks off at 12:50 PM with a maiden special weight race for two-year-olds sprinting 5 furlongs for a $70,000 purse. The seven runners in the opening race are Ralstonson, Bowie, Street Player, Valdero, My Favorite Bird, Vito’s Wildcat, and Inordinary.

The second race of the day is a maiden claiming event for thoroughbreds with a $34,000 purse, run over 1 mile. The field of nine includes Reverend Moon, Juan Mo Time, What It Tiz, This Cat Is Nappin, Secret Bagnet Man, Yankee Drummer, He’s a Wild Child, Sponge Time, and Last Run.

At 1:50 PM, the third race features fillies and mares aged four years old and upward, contesting a $23,500 purse. The seven contenders lining up are Khosea, Go Big Green, Darling Darley, Current Situation, Worldly Beauty, KikiLove, and Band of Roses.

The fourth race begins at 2:23 PM for maidens aged three years old and upward, sprinting 5½ furlongs for a $29,000 purse. Competing in this race are Deputy Tramon, Eastern Extension (IRE), Double Eight, Live to Ride (GB), Catalina Cree, Spit the Bit, and National Secret.

Scheduled for 2:56 PM, the fifth race is for three-year-olds or four-year-olds and upward that have never won three races, covering 1 mile for a $31,000 purse. The field includes My Great Illusion, Uncle John, Falfurrias, Old Flag (IRE), Victory Dash, Battle of Dover, Ready to Reign, and Ortus.

The sixth race goes off at 3:28 PM for fillies and mares aged three and up who have never won two races, with a $24,500 purse. The seven runners are Siljim, Charlie’s Beauty, Bigbouquetofroses, Saweetie Girl, Jayana, Shiloh, and Our Fortune Cookie.

At 4:11 PM, the seventh race is for fillies and mares aged four and older that have either started for a claiming price of $12,500 or less since May 16, 2023, or are entered for a $20,000 claiming tag. The $33,000 purse will be contested by David’s Rose, Fulminate, Fields of Green, Nana’s Corn Muffin, Bodacious Bren, and Amor y Control.

Race eight is set for 4:44 PM and features four-year-olds and upward running for a $36,000 purse. The eight contenders are Tapit Three Times, Navy Cross, Clear Destination, Swashbuckle, Nerves of Steel, Drakon, Smart Striker, and Salvattore Prince.

Closing out the day is the ninth race at 5:16 PM, a competitive contest for three-year-olds and upward that have never won $20,000 other than maiden, claiming, starter, or restricted, or who have never won two races, or are entered for a $25,000 claiming price. The race is run over 5 furlongs with a $57,000 purse. The ten contenders are Street Rod, Power Attack, Tap Gold, One Whirlwind Ride, El Apagon (CHI), Sosua Summer, And Uwish, Red River Rebel, Chaplin, and El Tinmarin.
