The Delhi Race Club witnessed another thrilling chapter of the ongoing Delhi Meeting 2024-2025 with its 39th race day held on April 27th, 2025. Enthusiasts and racing aficionados gathered in large numbers to witness a day packed with action, passion, and skillful performances across seven spectacular races. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as seasoned trainers, promising jockeys, and spirited horses vied for supremacy on the well-prepared track.

The racing track was in excellent condition, with a penetrometer reading of 2.3 indicating a perfect balance for fast-paced racing. The railings were strategically placed starting at 1050 meters and gradually narrowed to just 2 meters wide by the 1000-meter mark, a critical section that remained unchanged up to the winning post. The starting gates were precisely positioned using a roadometer, ensuring fairness and accuracy for all competitors.

The race day officially commenced at 3:00 PM with the feature event, the Sweet Relation Plate, setting the tone for an electrifying afternoon.

The Sweet Relation Plate, spanning a distance of 1100 meters, was reserved exclusively for 3-year-old Indian horses. Carrying a generous cash prize of ₹5,00,000, it drew considerable attention. The spotlight fell on the tote-favourite, ASHWA VEERAM, ably guided by jockey K Nazil and trained by the accomplished S Nawab. Clocking a swift time of 1:05.100, Ashwa Veeram crossed the finish line first with a commanding performance that underlined his growing reputation. BAHADUR, trained by Imdad Ali Khan and ridden by the promising Yash Saini, followed closely at 1:06.243. The tote-favourite SLEEKO, under Dhanu Singh Deora, secured third place in 1:06.445 after a hard-fought battle, reflecting the day’s highly competitive spirit.

The third race at 4:00 PM, the Smooth Operation Plate, promised high-speed action over a 1000-meter sprint. A Class 1 contest for horses rated 80 and above, it had ₹4,00,000 up for grabs. KINGS CREZY, brilliantly ridden by Vishal Shivhare and conditioned by trainer Imdad Ali Khan, clinched a narrow victory in 0:58.703, edging out the tote-favourite ASHWA YASHODHRA, partnered by K Nazil and trained by S Nawab, who clocked 0:58.738. WONDERFULL LADY, under the guidance of jockey Vishal and trained by Rajinder, finished third, timing 0:59.003. The quality of racing displayed here truly thrilled the spectators.

The action continued with the DRC Racing Officials Cup Div 2 at 4:30 PM, another tightly contested 1000-meter sprint. This Class 4 race for horses rated 20 to 46 offered ₹2,85,000 in total prize money. Tote-favourite ASHWA KANIKA, skillfully ridden by Vishal and trained by the consistent S Nawab, lived up to expectations by winning in 0:59.005. MERIDIA, trained by I S Parmar and ridden by R Rakesh, came in second with 0:59.729, while SHERA, guided by Varun and trained by K Ali Khan, claimed third place at 0:59.775.

By 5:00 PM, the momentum carried into the DRC Racing Officials Cup Div 1, offering a fierce competition over another 1000 meters. ELITE, expertly ridden by Mohit Singh and trained by Syed H Abbas, captured the win with a timing of 0:59.983, edging out the strong tote-favourite ASHWA CHANGEZ, partnered with A S Peter, who finished at 1:00.004. MISS IRINA, with Angad in the saddle for trainer R Kumar, rounded off the top three at 1:00.067. Every stride in this race underscored the razor-thin margins that make horse racing so exhilarating.

As twilight approached, the penultimate race, the Ocean Way Plate, unfolded at 5:30 PM. This 1200-meter Class 4 race, offering ₹2,85,000, saw BUMBLEBEE, trained by V S Parmar and piloted by Deepak Kumar, steal the spotlight by finishing first with a time of 1:12.471. Close behind was GIRL POWER, ridden by Vishal Shivhare and trained by Imdad Ali Khan, timing 1:12.789. MY DARLING BOBBY, under Shivam and trainer R Kumar, secured third at 1:12.916. Despite being the tote-favourite, LUCKY LIPS could manage only fourth, underlining the unpredictability that keeps racing enthusiasts hooked.

Finally, the Good Decision Plate brought down the curtain at 6:00 PM. A 1200-meter Class 5 contest for horses rated 1-26, it featured a prize pool of ₹2,60,000. COUNTRY MAGIC, ridden to perfection by Mohd Talib and trained by Mohsin Khan, clinched a well-earned victory, clocking 1:13.778. LAST ROMANCE, handled ably by Angad for trainer K P Singh, finished a close second in 1:13.899. The tote-favourite MISSEY BOY, with Mohit Singh aboard for trainer S M Abbas, secured third with a respectable time of 1:14.016.
