Sandown Park Racecourse is all set to launch its Flat Racing Season on April 25, 2025, with a spectacular race day that promises top-tier action and possibly a glimpse at future Derby or Royal Ascot champions. This highly anticipated fixture will showcase seven exciting races, including prestigious Group 2 and Group 3 events, and the all-important Classic Trial, which could reveal a rising star destined for Derby glory.

Gates will open at 11:15 AM, giving racegoers ample time to explore the venue, grab refreshments, and soak in the electric atmosphere before the first race kicks off at 1:15 PM. The opening act of the day is the Handicap Stakes over a 5-furlong distance. This sprint will set the momentum for the day, as spectators dive into the thrill of the flat racing season.

At 1:50 PM, the focus shifts to the Esher Cup Handicap Stakes, a one-mile race known for its competitive field and nail-biting finishes. A favourite among fans and punters, this race keeps everyone engaged until the very last furlong.

The day concludes with the Nordoff & Robbins Jeff Beck Memorial Handicap Stakes at 4:45 PM, again over 1 mile and 2 furlongs. Named in honour of legendary musician Jeff Beck and supporting a charitable cause, this race brings the perfect close to a day of non-stop action.
