The Royal Western India Turf Club opened the final day of its 2024-25 Mumbai Meeting with the running of the Rapier Million, a 1200-meter contest that offered total stakes of ₹15,00,000, including ₹7,05,000 to the winner. The race set the tone for an exciting closing day, and it was Sussing who rose to the occasion.

Trained by H J Antia and ridden confidently by Antony Raj S, Sussing delivered a sharp performance to finish first in 1:11.683, returning at odds of 7.50. The gelding showed good pace and control to hold off his challengers and land the opening feature of the day.

Close behind came Red Merlot, trained by Narendra Lagad and ridden by A Prakash, who finished second with a timing of 1:12.082 at 8 odds.

The third spot was claimed by Lightning Blaze, also from the stables of Narendra Lagad, giving the veteran trainer a strong double presence on the podium. Guided by S Siddharth, Lightning Blaze clocked 1:12.145 and returned at 15 odds.

With one race in the books, attention now turns to the Bombay Club Multi-Million, a 1600-meter race that promises more drama on this season-closing afternoon at Mahalaxmi.
