The Indian horse racing calendar for the first week of April 2025 is brimming with excitement, featuring events across Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Enthusiasts can look forward to witnessing top-tier equine talent, skilled jockeys, and festive atmospheres at these renowned venues.

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, the Delhi Race Club will host its 32nd day of the 2024-2025 season. The day’s card includes multiple races, such as The Railway Protection Force Cup (1600 meters), The RPF Mahila Suraksha Plate (1400 meters), The RPF Shaheed Shri G.P. Hugar Plate (1100 meters), and The Northern India Cup (1600 meters). These events promise thrilling competition and showcase the prowess of both seasoned and emerging talents.

The Royal Calcutta Turf Club in Kolkata will feature back-to-back race days on Thursday, April 3, and Friday, April 4, as per their summer meeting. On April 3, six races are scheduled, including The Bangalore Turf Club Cup (1400 meters) with a prize purse of ₹7,50,000 and a trophy valued at ₹25,000, and The Network Handicap (1400 meters) offering ₹5,50,000 in total prizes. The Andropov Handicap, a 1600-meter race, with Rs.5,00,000 as total prize. The Aayush Handicap, a 1400-meter race, with Rs. 4,00,000 total cash prize. The Theogundi Handicap, a 1200-meter race, with Rs. 4,00,000 total prize money. The Succeeding Star Handicap, a 1600-Meter race with Rs.3,00,000 total cash money.

The following day, April 4, the club will present eight races, such as The Police Cup (1200 meters) and The Cradle Of The Deep Handicap (1200 meters) with a total cash prize of ₹5,00,000. The Alaskan Handicap, a 1400-meter race, with Rs. 5,00,000 as total cash prize. The Angeles Handicap, a 1600-meter race, with Rs.4,00,000 as total cash purse. The Royal Mantle Handicap, a 1100-meter race, contains total prize purse of Rs. 4,00,000. The Toroloco Cup, a 1400-meter race, with total price money of Rs. 3,00,000 and a cup of Rs. 20,000. The Snow Forest Handicap, a 1200-meter race, with Rs.3,00,000 as total prize purse. The Coxcomb Handicap, a 1200-meter race. These events are set to deliver exhilarating finishes and display the refined skills of participating horses and jockeys.

The highlight of the week is the Indian Racing Carnival at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse, organized by the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC). This grand event spans Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6, 2025, concluding the 2024-2025 Mumbai racing season. The carnival features prestigious races, including The C.N. Wadia Gold Cup (Grade 2) with a prize of ₹5 million, The Maharaja Sir Harisinghji Trophy (Grade 3) offering ₹3.5 million, The Zavaray S. Poonawalla Sprinters Challenge with ₹3.5 million at stake, and the Poonawalla Stud Farms Auction Sales Stakes, also with a ₹5 million purse. Beyond the races, attendees can enjoy live music, diverse culinary offerings, shopping experiences, and family-friendly activities, ensuring a festive atmosphere for all.
