The Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) is gearing up for an action-packed evening as it hosts the next Mumbai Meeting of the 2024-25 season on Sunday, March 30, 2025. The nine-race card promises intense competition, with The Dady Adenwalla Trophy standing out as the marquee event. The race day commences at 3:30 PM with The Racing Journalists Trophy and concludes at 7:30 PM with The Sion F. Nessim Plate, offering a thrilling spectacle for racing enthusiasts.
The highlight of the day, The Dady Adenwalla Trophy, is a 1000 Meters sprint divided into two division sraces three and five on the schedule. The event is open to foreign jockeys and carries a total prize purse of Rs. 12,00,000, with the winner earning Rs. 5,64,000 and a trophy. A field of promising three-year-olds will contest the Division II race.
Among the contenders are DON JULIO (by Moonlight Magic out of Santa Lucia), ridden by Haridas Gore and trained by Rehanullah Khan. MERKAVAH (by Planetaire out of Surprise Party), partnered with T S Jodha under the training of Nazzak B Chenoy. SENECA (by Deauville out of Star Nijinsky), with A Sandesh in the saddle, trained by Adhirajsingh Jodha. AZURE (by Soft Currency out of Coronation Jewel), guided by Antony Raj S under the expertise of Imtiaz A Sait. FLASH MOB, MINISTRY OF TIME, REGAL GALLERIA, and ZEPHYR complete the competitive field.
The Division I race features a strong line-up, including BEAT THE HEAT (by Desert God out of Lush Lashes), ridden by Mustakim Alam, trained by H J Antia. DILIGENCE (by Excellent Art out of Devoted Eyes), with P Trevor aboard, trained by Dallas Todywalla. ENCHANTING (by Hymn out of Casanova Green), partnered with Neeraj Rawal, trained by Adhirajsingh Jodha. LUNA, MARCELLE, VIENNOISE, and WHISPER are also set to compete.
1000 Meters The Racing Journalists Trophy which starts at 3.30 PM race carries a purse of Rs. 5,00,000, with Rs. 2,35,000 going to the winner. Some of the notable runners include ARBITRAGE, ADONIS, HILMA KLINT, UNTITLED, and MOMENT OF MADNESS. Second race of the day is The Western India Race Horse Owners Association Trophy which will be run over 2000 Meters and will start at 4:00 PM. With total prize money of Rs. 9,00,000, the race features SPLENDIDO, EXUMA, THALASSA, FLAMING LAMBORGHINI, and EATON SQUARE.
Next race to take place is The Jockey’s Trophy which is scheduled to take place for 1600 Meters at 5:00 PM. This race carries a total prize money of Rs. 5,50,000 and features leading competitors including MYSTERIOUSSTRANGER, EMPOWER, EAGLE DAY, STALIN, and STORM.
The Racing officials Trophy Division II – 1200 Meters will take place at 6:00 PM and the Rs. 5,50,000 purse will be contested by CINDERELLA’S DREAM, DIVINE INTUITION, LORD MURPHY, MAJORELLA BLUE, and OCEAN, among others. Next on the cards is The Trainers Trophy, which will take place at 6.30 PM for a distance of 1400 Meters, boasting a prize of Rs. 6,50,000, this race includes top contenders EARTH, RAMBLER, FORTUNATE SON, FONTANA, and SPANISH EYES.
Another highly anticipated contest The Racing Officials Trophy Division 1 for 1200 Meters will take place at 7:00 PM with runners like BAKLAVA, DULARI, SCARAMOUCHE, STAR ROMANCE, and MAJESTIC WARRIOR. The day will end with The Sion F.Nessim Plate in which THE SENGOL QUEEN, OH KAY, MAJOR SAAB, HIGHGROUND and WE STILL BELIEVE will run for a total prize money of Rs. 5,00,000.
