The world’s best show jumping stars are set to dazzle as the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) returns to Mexico City from March 27 to 30. Presented by GNP Mexico Jumping, this elite competition marks the second stage of the prestigious 2025 circuit, drawing top international riders and their equine partners to the iconic Campo Marte. As the sole Latin American venue on the tour, Mexico City’s leg promises high-octane action, with the city’s 2,250-meter altitude adding an extra layer of challenge.

A total of 56 CSI5 riders representing 23 countries will compete, with an impressive lineup that includes reigning LGCT Champion Max Kühner, who makes his first appearance of the season. Equestrian legend John Whitaker will also be in action, alongside stars such as Jur Vrieling and Maikel van der Vleuten. Christian Ahlmann, a consistent force in the series, returns with his sights set on the top podium spot, while seasoned campaigners like Eduardo Alvarez Aznar, two-time LGCT Champion Edwina Tops-Alexander, Katrin Eckermann, Simon Delestre, Marco Kutscher, Denis Lynch, and Olivier Philippaerts add further firepower to an already formidable field. Notably, Olivier will look to emulate his brother Nicola Philippaerts, who triumphed in last year’s LGCT Grand Prix in Mexico City.

The local crowd will have plenty to cheer for, with Mexico’s own Fernando Martinez Sommer and Carlos Hank Guerreiro taking to the arena. These talented riders will be aiming to make a strong impression on home soil against some of the sport’s biggest names.

Mexico City’s LGCT event is renowned for its electric atmosphere, passionate spectators, and the challenge presented by its vast grass arena, one of the largest on the circuit. As the second leg of the season, it holds significant weight in the championship race, with competitors eager to claim valuable points en route to the LGCT Finals. Adding to the stakes, the coveted second golden ticket to the Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix is up for grabs, further intensifying the competition.

With its stunning backdrop, top-tier talent, and a high-stakes battle for supremacy, the LGCT of Mexico City is poised to deliver another unforgettable chapter in the 2025 show jumping season. Over 20,000 fans are expected to witness the action live, while audiences around the world can follow every jump, turn, and triumph via GCTV’s expert coverage.
