I Know I Know Delivers Strong Comeback in Jet Propulsion Handicap

I Know I Know wins the Jet Propulsion Handicap at Gulfstream Park

I Know I Know returned to winning form at Gulfstream Park on Sunday, capturing the $60,000 Jet Propulsion Handicap after a 14-month absence from the winner’s circle. The four-year-old, trained by Patrick Biancone and owned by Amy E. Dunne, produced a determined performance over the Tapeta surface to secure victory in the mile-and-70-yard contest.

The Jet Propulsion Handicap was originally scheduled for turf but was transferred to Tapeta following persistent rain throughout the day. The change also reduced the field from eight to four runners, creating a different test for the remaining contenders.

I Know I Know, a son of Jess’s Dream, arrived at the race with an established record on the all-weather surface. Nine previous starts on Tapeta had produced six top-three finishes, including two victories. The most recent of those wins came in an off-the-turf optional claiming allowance on August 10, 2025.

Ridden by J. G. Torrealba, I Know I Know was sent off as the 7-5 favourite and settled into a prominent position behind Tank, who led the early running under Leonel Reyes. The pair remained closely matched into the home stretch before I Know I Know found the extra pace needed to move clear.

The winning margin was 1¼ lengths, with the clock stopping at 1:39.75. Tank finished second, another 2½ lengths ahead of Jayhawk in third. The victory marked a welcome return to winning form for the Biancone-trained runner, who was bred in Florida by his trainer.

Gulfstream Park Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Expected to Reach $175,000

Attention will now turn to Friday’s programme at Gulfstream Park, where the 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is expected to reach an estimated $175,000. The jackpot went unsolved for the ninth consecutive racing day on Sunday.

The six-race sequence will cover Races 4 through 9, with Race 7 featuring a six-furlong maiden special weight for fillies and mares. Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher will be represented by two promising three-year-old fillies, Just a Girl and Wild Night.

Just a Girl, owned by Michael Tabor, will make her second career appearance after finishing second on debut at Saratoga on September 7. She was beaten by a neck after setting the pace over seven furlongs. The daughter of Triple Crown champion Justify will once again be partnered by Diego Herrera.

Pletcher will also introduce Wild Night, owned by Bass Stables LLC. The three-year-old daughter of Liam’s Map was purchased for $350,000 at the 2024 Keeneland September Sale and is scheduled to make her career debut. Miguel Vasquez has been named for the assignment.

Reyes, Herrera and Leon Record Doubles at Gulfstream Park

Sunday’s Gulfstream Park programme also produced multiple winners for three jockeys.

Sunshine Meet’s leading jockey Leonel Reyes recorded a double, winning aboard Winning Charm in Race 4 and Slew Vinbiz in Race 7. Diego Herrera, the Royal Palm Meet titleholder, also secured two victories with Vertrauen in Race 6 and Sabian in Race 9.

Sonny Leon completed the riding doubles with wins aboard Romelia in Race 1 and Sass Sass in Race 3.

The results provided an eventful conclusion to Sunday’s meeting at Gulfstream Park, while I Know I Know’s return to the winner’s circle stood out as one of the afternoon’s notable performances.
