Progressive three-year-old colt Confederation led the results at the Inglis Digital October (Late) Sale, selling to Sandhurst for $205,000. The Chris Waller-trained colt, by Wootton Bassett, attracted strong interest from prospective buyers and emerged as the highest-priced lot in the online auction.
Confederation was offered by the Coolmore Colts Syndicate, which also recorded a notable result with First Act, sold to Griffiths Racing for $105,000. The two transactions highlighted the demand for promising young racehorses with scope for further development.
Brian McGuire, speaking on behalf of the Coolmore Colts Syndicate, said both horses had attracted considerable interest from domestic and international buyers. He expressed satisfaction with the results and indicated that both were expected to continue racing in Australia under their new connections.
Inglis Digital October Sale: Toronado Colt Fetches $200,000
The second-highest-priced lot was an unnamed two-year-old colt by Toronado, out of Baccarat Baby, who sold to X Bloodstock for $200,000. The colt is a brother to Tron Bolt, a Group 1 winner who previously topped the Inglis Ready2Race Sale.
Offered by Headline Thoroughbreds, the colt caught the attention of X Bloodstock, with Kevin Sin describing the family as an appealing prospect. The buyer had followed Tron Bolt’s progress after the previous year’s sale and saw considerable potential in the younger colt.
Sin said a decision on the colt’s trainer would be made in the coming days. While the possibility of eventually campaigning the horse in Hong Kong remained open, the immediate plan was to assess its development and racing potential in Australia.
The Toronado colt formed part of a seven-horse draft presented by Headline Thoroughbreds. All seven offerings sold, generating a combined return of $471,600.
She’s Supreme Valuation Reaches $400,000
Another notable result involved two 2.5 per cent shares in the lightly raced two-year-old filly She’s Supreme, with each share selling for $10,000. The transactions placed the filly’s implied valuation at $400,000, ten times the $40,000 paid for her at the Classic Yearling Sale in February.
By Exceedance, She’s Supreme is trained by Marc and Mitchell Conners and has raced once, finishing third in the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes at Randwick earlier this month.
Marc Conners welcomed the result, noting that the valuation reflected the filly’s potential and the confidence surrounding her future prospects. He also acknowledged the work undertaken with Mary Anne Bozsity of Inglis in establishing the target valuation.
The filly is being aimed at two upcoming Inglis races, the Banner and, potentially, the Nursery over the next two months. Both contests offer significant opportunities for young horses, and strong performances could help shape her campaign for the autumn.
October Sale Grosses $2.58 Million
The Inglis Digital October (Late) Sale generated total sales of $2,581,100 and included six lots that reached six-figure prices.
Beyond Confederation and the Toronado colt, the leading transactions included Queen Of Clubs, who sold for $155,000 to Blue Gum Farm and Suman Hedge Bloodstock; an unnamed two-year-old by Zoustar, purchased by Monarch Racing for $145,000; and Undercovered, who went to AK Select for $125,000.
The latest figures also underline the continued activity in the online auction market. Since the beginning of 2025, 240 lots have sold for $100,000 or more through Inglis Digital, including 76 that have reached at least $200,000.
With the October sale concluded, attention now turns to the Inglis Digital November (Early) Sale. The auction is scheduled to run from October 30 to November 4, with entries remaining open until midnight on Wednesday, October 28.
Confederation’s $205,000 sale provided the leading result, while the Toronado colt and She’s Supreme added further interest to an auction that produced strong returns across several categories.
