Hyderabad Race Club (HRC) staged an eight-race meeting on Monday, September 28, with Lion’s Pride, Evansville, N R I Royal Power, Racing Ruler, Torchbearer, Reigning Beauty, La Quinta and Dyanoosh recording victories across the programme. Akshay Kumar and trainer K.S.V. Prasad Raju completed a double through Evansville and La Quinta, while the card also produced wins for Darshan R.N., Afroz Khan, Kuldeep Singh (Sr), Kuldeep Singh (Jr), MD Ismail and Sonu Kumar. The meeting featured two divisions of The Nalgonda Plate and The Major Mir Mujtaba Hussain Memorial Trophy.
Lion’s Pride opened the meeting with victory in The Nalgonda Plate (Div I), completing the race in 1:14.504. Darshan R.N. partnered the winner for trainer S.A. Raza Shehzad, while Mr Yadugiri Kiran Kumar owned the horse. Mantle Plume finished second and Menlo Park took third. Lion’s Pride provided the first winning result of the afternoon, with Darshan R.N. guiding the horse to the top position for S.A. Raza Shehzad.
Evansville followed with victory in The Twin Cities Plate, stopping the clock at 1:54.681. Akshay Kumar rode the winner for trainer K.S.V. Prasad Raju, while Mr M Ramakrishna Reddy was the owner. Aakarshaka finished second and Silver Arrow secured third. The result gave Akshay Kumar and K.S.V. Prasad Raju their first success of the meeting and later formed part of their two-win afternoon when La Quinta also claimed victory.
N R I Royal Power then secured The Nalgonda Plate (Div II), recording a winning time of 1:14.361. Afroz Khan partnered the winner for trainer D. Netto, with Mr Ravinder Reddy Male as the owner. Goddess of Light finished second, while Sara took third. N R I Royal Power produced another successful result for the connections and completed the second division of The Nalgonda Plate ahead of Goddess of Light and Sara.
Racing Ruler claimed The Dr. Harish Chandra Memorial Trophy in 1:39.837, with Kuldeep Singh (Sr) in the saddle for trainer K.S.V. Prasad Raju. The winner was owned by M/s Bollineni Krishnaiah, Seshadri Reddy Pochana, Ashok Ranpise, KSV Prasad Raju, Mukund Kakani, Dr Teegala Vijender Reddy, M/s Teegala Sumant Reddy, Harinath Reddy Teegala and Mrs Smita Bajoria. Love All finished second and Authoritarian was third. Racing Ruler’s success gave K.S.V. Prasad Raju his second training victory of the meeting after Evansville had won earlier for the same trainer.
Torchbearer added another winner to the card by taking The Major Mir Mujtaba Hussain Memorial Trophy (Div I) in 1:14.250. Kuldeep Singh (Jr) partnered the winner for trainer L.V.R. Deshmukh, while Col S B Nair owned the horse. Clefairy finished second and Shoolin took third. Torchbearer’s victory gave Kuldeep Singh (Jr) a winning ride on the Hyderabad programme and added another successful trainer-jockey combination to the afternoon’s results.
Reigning Beauty won The Noble Quest Plate in 1:14.033, with MD Ismail riding for trainer Neelesh Rawal. The Estate of Late Mr L D’Silva owned the winner. Knight Regent finished second and N R I High Power took third. Reigning Beauty recorded the quickest winning time among the races on the card for which times were supplied, with the horse completing the contest in just over one minute and 14 seconds. The result gave Neelesh Rawal and MD Ismail a winner on the Hyderabad programme.
La Quinta provided Akshay Kumar and K.S.V. Prasad Raju with their second success of the meeting in The Nagarkurnool Plate. The winner completed the race in 1:27.028, with Akshay Kumar once again in the saddle for K.S.V. Prasad Raju. M/s M Ramakrishna Reddy, Bharat Venkat Epur and Mrs Rajini Meka owned La Quinta. Konaseema finished second and Farsiris took third. The result completed a double for Akshay Kumar as a jockey and K.S.V. Prasad Raju as a trainer, with Evansville and La Quinta giving the pair two victories during the eight-race card.
Dyanoosh brought the meeting to a close with victory in The Major Mir Mujtaba Hussain Memorial Trophy (Div II), recording a winning time of 1:13.561. Sonu Kumar partnered the winner for trainer Mir Faiyaz Ali Khan, while M/s Md Sultan, Sardar Jivtesh Singh and M Praveen Kumar owned the horse. Warwick finished second and Lucky Zone took third. Dyanoosh therefore completed the list of eight winners on the Hyderabad card, with Sonu Kumar, Mir Faiyaz Ali Khan and the ownership partnership ending the meeting with the final success.
The Hyderabad Race Results 28 September featured eight races at Hyderabad Race Club, with Lion’s Pride, Evansville, N R I Royal Power, Racing Ruler, Torchbearer, Reigning Beauty, La Quinta and Dyanoosh all recording victories.
