Perth Racecourse will stage a seven-race National Hunt programme on Thursday, 24 September 2026, with the opening contest scheduled for 1:39pm and the final race due off at 5:10pm. The Perth Racecourse Seven-Race Card will feature a mixture of novice hurdles, handicap hurdles and steeplechases, with distances ranging from 2m 47y to almost three miles.

The afternoon will begin with The Saltire Hospitality EBF Mares’ National Hunt Novices’ Hurdle Race at 1:39pm. The Class 4 contest will be open to mares aged four and above and will be run over 2m 4f 35y. The race will carry £10,000 in prize money and will form part of the EBF Mares’ NH Novices’ Hurdle Series Qualifier.

The second race will follow at 2:14pm with The Christmas Party Nights At Perth Racecourse Novices’ Limited Handicap Steeple Chase. The Class 3 contest will be open to four-year-olds and older horses and will cover 2m 4f 20y. It will carry £15,000 in prize money and will provide the first steeplechase of the afternoon.

At 2:49pm, The House Of Bruar Novices’ Limited Handicap Hurdle Race will take place over 2m 47y. The Class 5 contest will be open to three-year-olds and older horses and will carry £8,500 in prize money. Eligibility will be restricted to runners rated from 0-95.

Perth Racecourse Seven-Race Card Will Move Into Longer Tests

The fourth race will provide a longer-distance challenge when The Equine Products UK Best Turned Out Handicap Steeple Chase gets underway at 3:24pm. The Class 4 contest will be run over 2m 7f 180y and will be open to horses aged four and above. It will carry £10,000 in prize money and will also form part of the Go North Red Rum Series Qualifier.

The principal Class 2 event will follow at 3:59pm with The Edinburgh Gin Owner Trainer Jockey Awards Handicap Hurdle Race. The contest will be open to four-year-olds and older horses and will be run over 2m 7f 207y. With £22,500 in prize money, it will carry the highest prize fund on the seven-race programme.

The sixth race will be The Paul Ferguson’s Jumpers To Follow Handicap Hurdle Race at 4:34pm. The Class 5 contest will cover 2m 7f 207y and will be open to four-year-olds and older horses rated from 0-105. The race will carry £8,500 in prize money and will serve as a Go North Brindisi Breeze Series Qualifier.

The final contest will start at 5:10pm with The A Place For You Here Handicap Hurdle Race. The Class 5 race will be run over 2m 4f 35y and will be open to three-year-olds and older horses rated from 0-100. It will carry £9,000 in prize money and will bring the afternoon programme to a close.

The Perth Racecourse Seven-Race Card will therefore provide a varied National Hunt schedule, with three hurdle contests in the first three races before the programme moves towards longer-distance action. The afternoon will include three steeplechases and four hurdle races, while the Class 2 handicap hurdle will provide the highest-rated contest of the meeting.

The range of distances will also give the card a broad structure, beginning with races around two and a half miles before moving towards contests close to three miles. The two longer handicap hurdles and the extended-distance steeplechase will provide further tests over the second half of the programme.

Perth Racecourse will stage seven National Hunt races on Thursday, 24 September, from 1:39pm to 5:10pm, with novice events, handicap hurdles and steeplechases forming the programme.
