Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC) conducted a six-race programme on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, with Admiringly, Fifty Shades, Lineupandcollect, Cigar Galaxy, Trakila and Happy Morning recording victories. P. Trevor produced the standout riding performance of the afternoon with three wins, while trainer Aashay Doctor also completed a treble. Vishal Bunde registered two victories, and B. Rajender Reddy also secured a double on the card.
The opening contest, The Star Phoenix Handicap, went to Admiringly, who was ridden by P. Trevor and trained by Aashay Doctor. The winner completed the race in 2:08.664. Magnifico finished second, while Goodwill secured third place. Admiringly was owned by Mrs Snigdha Kapoor, Mrs Ruchi Kedia, Mrs Disha Viral Doctor, M/s Arion Horse Co Pvt Ltd, M/s Deciding Factor LLP, Dr S P Sardeshmukh, Mr Farhan Elvis Ahmed, Mr Hemang Devendra Doctor, Mr Viral Devkumar Doctor and Mr Devkumar Devendra Doctor.
The Fairy Heights Plate provided the first success of the afternoon for Vishal Bunde as Fifty Shades secured victory for trainer B. Mahesh. The winner completed the race in 1:07.028, with Valerian finishing second and Starliner taking third. Fifty Shades was owned by Mrs Sreya Bose, Mrs Pooja Vijendra Singh, Mr Suchit Jayraj Shah and Mr B Mahesh. The result gave Bunde an early victory on the card and added another successful combination to the afternoon’s results.
The Flamenco Star Handicap then produced a win for Lineupandcollect, ridden by V R Jagadeesh and trained by B. Rajender Reddy. The winner recorded a time of 1:41.373, while Keitaro finished second and Royal Member took third place. Lineupandcollect was owned by Mr Faiz Adam. The result gave Jagadeesh a winner on the programme, while B. Rajender Reddy began what later became a training double.
The Dr. Anil Kumar Memorial Cup saw P. Trevor and Aashay Doctor combine once again, with Cigar Galaxy securing the victory. The winner completed the race in 1:25.238, followed by Big Bay in second and Stellantis in third. Cigar Galaxy was owned by Mrs Rina Mahindra, Ms Tarshia Dutta, Mr Atul Ishwardas Chordia, Mr Marthand Singh Mahindra, Mr Rakesh Narayan Wadhwa and Mr Jehan Jehangir Sataravala. Trevor’s success marked his second win of the afternoon, while Doctor also moved to two victories as a trainer.
P. Trevor completed his treble in The Stewards Cup with Trakila, giving Aashay Doctor a third training success of the programme. Trakila finished the race in 1:25.662, with Black Eagle taking second and King Louis finishing third. The winner was owned by Mrs Rina Mahindra, Mrs Menaka Gupta, Mr Salomone N Benveniste, Mr Marthand Singh Mahindra, Mr Vishal Doctor, Mr Kamal J Doctor rep, Ms Deciding Factor LLP, Mr Hemang D Doctor, Mr Achuthan Siddharth and Mr Viral Doctor. Trevor’s three victories came aboard Admiringly, Cigar Galaxy and Trakila, all trained by Doctor.
The final race, The Unleashed Handicap, ended with another victory for Vishal Bunde as Happy Morning completed the programme with a win. Trained by B. Rajender Reddy, Happy Morning recorded a time of 1:29.788. Simran’s Attitude finished second, while Totally Epic was third. Happy Morning was owned by Mr Ajit Kumar Patra. The result gave Bunde his second success of the afternoon and also completed B. Rajender Reddy’s training double following Lineupandcollect’s earlier victory.
The six-race programme therefore produced six different winners, with several riders and trainers recording multiple successes. P. Trevor led the riding results with three victories, while Aashay Doctor matched that achievement with three training wins. Vishal Bunde completed a double through Fifty Shades and Happy Morning, and B. Rajender Reddy also recorded two training successes. The afternoon at Royal Calcutta Turf Club consequently ended with a series of notable individual performances and a clean sweep of different winners across all six races.
