Gulfstream Park will inaugurate its Sunshine Meet stakes programme on September 6 with a 10-race card headed by the $150,000 FHBPA Express Tour and the $150,000 FHBPA Three Ring. The Gulfstream Park Racecards 6 September 2026 will feature Florida-bred 2-year-olds in both seven-furlong contests on the main track, with proceedings scheduled to begin at 12:20 p.m.
The Express Tour will bring together six juveniles, with unbeaten Sum of Success commanding attention after two authoritative victories at Gulfstream Park. Owned by K. Johnston Racing, Michael and Jules Iavarone and Hopeless Stables, the bay colt will arrive with an unblemished record and will face his first stakes field of winners.
Trained by Bobby Dibona, Sum of Success will have begun his career with a five-furlong maiden special weight victory on July 20 before producing an emphatic 11½-length success in the six-furlong FHBPA In Summation on August 10. That performance earned the son of Win Win Win an 87 Beyer Speed Figure, described in the supplied race information as the highest recorded by a juvenile at Gulfstream Park.
Jonathan Ocasio will retain the mount from Post 3, with Sum of Success assigned 124 pounds, the highest weight in the field. Dibona will have opted to keep the colt in Florida rather than pursue the seven-furlong Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga, with the $250,000 FHBPA Three Rules, a one-turn mile scheduled for October 3, emerging as a future objective. A possible transition to turf will also remain under consideration.
Godfidence will provide another recent winner. Bred, owned and trained by Mary Lightner, the son of Chance It will have finished third on debut before scoring over six furlongs at Colonial Downs on July 24. Rajiv Maragh will take the ride from Post 1.
Stick Talk will also enter with winning form after a half-length maiden success against Florida-breds over 5½ furlongs on August 9. Carlos David will train the Bell Racing-owned colt, with Samy Camacho booked from Post 4. American Roadster, Mister Morgs and Holy Warrior will complete the Express Tour field.
Liberty Rings Headlines the Gulfstream Park Racecards 6 September 2026 Stakes
The $150,000 FHBPA Three Ring will form the second major attraction on the Gulfstream Park Racecards 6 September 2026, with Liberty Rings leading a six-filly field over seven furlongs.
The Theresa and David Palmer homebred will arrive as the only two-time winner in the field and will bring stakes-winning form on both turf and dirt. Trained by Nick Palmer, the daughter of Awesome Slew will have captured the $100,000 Royal Palm Juvenile Fillies over five furlongs on Gulfstream’s turf course on May 9 before finishing outside the frame in the June 21 Debutante at Churchill Downs.
Liberty Rings will have rebounded emphatically on August 8, when she won the six-furlong Scandalous Act Stakes for Florida-bred juvenile fillies by three lengths on the main track. Miguel Vasquez will take the mount from Post 6. Palmer will also have indicated that the filly could eventually be suited to turf over two turns.
R Island Jewel will provide a leading alternative after finishing second by a neck in a five-furlong maiden special weight at Gulfstream Park on August 16. Rasheed Hughes will ride the Saffie Joseph Jr.-trained filly.
Mon Coquette will return after finishing second to Liberty Rings in the Scandalous Act. The Omaha Beach filly, trained by Victor Barboza Jr., will have previously broken her maiden by 2½ lengths. Arindel’s Boots, R One Way and Blinkster will complete the field.
The meeting will therefore place considerable emphasis on Florida-bred juveniles, with Sum of Success carrying an unbeaten record into the Express Tour and Liberty Rings bringing victories on two surfaces into the Three Ring.
The Gulfstream Park Racecards 6 September 2026 will centre on two $150,000 Florida-bred stakes, with unbeaten Sum of Success leading the FHBPA Express Tour and Liberty Rings heading the FHBPA Three Ring over seven furlongs.
