Race 2 will follow at 1:44pm with a $90,000 Maiden Special Weight over 5½ furlongs on turf. Twelve starters will be listed for the second race, which will provide an early turf sprint on the card.

Races 3 and 4 will both cover longer distances, although they will use different surfaces and race conditions. The third contest will be a $78,000 Starter Allowance over 1 mile on dirt at 2:18pm, with eight runners. Race 4 will then move to turf for a $90,000 Maiden Optional Claiming contest over 1 1/16 miles at 2:52pm. The fourth race will have 16 starters, making it one of the largest fields of the afternoon.

The programme will return to dirt for Race 5, a $85,000 Maiden Claiming contest over 6 furlongs at 3:26pm. Nine runners will be listed for the sprint. Race 6 will then switch back to turf for a $120,000 Allowance over 5½ furlongs at 4:00pm, with ten starters scheduled to compete.

Race 7 will provide one of the longer assignments of the afternoon, with a $105,000 Allowance covering 1⅛ miles on turf at 4:34pm. Thirteen runners will be listed for the contest. Race 8 will follow at 5:09pm with a $115,000 Maiden Special Weight over 6½ furlongs on dirt, with nine starters.

The ninth race will carry the afternoon’s largest purse when THE BERNARD BARUCH STAKES PRESENTED BY SNAP-ON will be contested for $200,000 over 1 1/16 miles on turf at 5:44pm. The race will be for three-year-olds and upward and will form the principal stakes event on the ten-race programme. NYRA will list the Bernard Baruch as a 1 1/16-mile Mellon turf race, with Kupuna among the horses expected to return following a lengthy break.

The final contest will begin at 6:19pm and will carry a $56,000 purse for a Maiden Claiming race over 1 1/16 miles on turf. Sixteen runners will be listed, bringing the afternoon’s ten-race programme to a close. The final two races will therefore provide another pair of turf contests after the dirt assignment in Race 8.
