Supreme Honor closed out Monday’s programme at Gulfstream Park with a determined finish in the ninth race, completing a sequence that also featured victories for Team of Rivals, Fire On the Wire, Kinetic Stone, Great Venezuela and Brooklyn Guy.

Gulfstream Park results provided a varied afternoon of racing, with several jockeys making more than one visit to the winner’s circle.

The feature sequence was completed by Supreme Honor in Race 9, a 1 1/16-mile turf claimer for three-year-olds and older horses. The winning order was 6-9-5-8-4-2, with Supreme Honor bringing the six-race sequence to a close.

Earlier on the card, Team of Rivals got the better of Race 4, while Fire On the Wire followed in Race 5. Kinetic Stone took Race 6 before Great Venezuela prevailed in Race 7. Brooklyn Guy then added another winner in Race 8 ahead of Supreme Honor’s finale success.

The afternoon also produced a number of notable individual performances.

Diego Herrera recorded a double aboard Hippy Hippy Shake in Race 3 and Great Venezuela in Race 7, strengthening a lead in the Royal Palm Meet jockey standings. Herrera moved to 81 winners, five clear of Samy Camacho on 75.

Miguel Vasquez also registered two victories, partnering Team of Rivals in Race 4 and Kinetic Stone in Race 6. Seven-pound apprentice Pedro Pena matched that achievement, scoring with Quizler in Race 2 and Fire On the Wire in Race 5.

There was also a trainer connection behind several of the winners. Beau Chapman saddled both Quizler and Kinetic Stone, while Victor Barboza Jr. was responsible for Fire On the Wire and Great Venezuela.

Monday’s programme also featured several notable combinations across the card, with the final sequence producing a particularly competitive run through the closing races.

The next meeting at Gulfstream Park is scheduled for Saturday, when racing resumes with a new six-race sequence covering Races 5 through 10. Race 7 will feature the $100,000 Miss Gracie, a two-turn mile on turf for three-year-old fillies. Multiple stakes-placed runners Bayou Brigid and Laigina are among those set to headline the contest.

The Royal Palm Meet will continue through August 31, with Monday programmes forming part of the closing stretch of the meeting.
