Clairefontaine will stage an eight-race programme on Monday, August 17, offering a varied afternoon of jumps racing with contests spread across several distances and classifications. The meeting features races for four-year-olds, three-year-olds and older horses, with distances ranging from 3,400 metres to 3,900 metres. Several races carry Classe 1 or Classe 2 status, while the closing event provides the headline contest of the day.

Clairefontaine Racecards 17 August 2026

The programme begins at 2:18pm with a 3,900-metre Classe 2 event before moving through a mixture of condition races, claiming contests and handicaps. The afternoon also includes races associated with the Restos du Coeur charity, giving the meeting a distinctive theme while bringing together a competitive collection of jumpers.

The Prix des Enfoires, Grande Course de Haies – Prix Guillaume d’Ornano, at 6:30pm is the most valuable race on the Clairefontaine card, carrying a prize of €87,000. The Listed handicap is open to horses aged five and older and will be run over 3,600 metres. With 16 runners listed, the race is also the largest field of the afternoon and promises to provide an intriguing finale to the meeting.

As a Listed event, the Prix des Enfoires stands out for both its status and prize fund. The combination of a sizeable field, the 3,600-metre distance and handicap conditions creates a demanding test in which consistency, jumping ability and stamina will all be important. The race is scheduled to bring the eight-race programme to a close at 6:30pm.

The meeting begins at 2:18pm with the Prix Pierres Normandes Promoteur Immobilier A Deauville Depuis 30 Ans. Restricted to four-year-old horses, the Classe 2 contest covers 3,900 metres and carries a prize of €37,000. Four runners are listed for the opening event, making it a relatively small-field start to the afternoon.

The extended distance will place emphasis on stamina and efficient jumping, while the Classe 2 classification adds quality to the opening race.

At 2:53pm, the Prix des 40 Ans des Restos (Prix M. d’Arexy – Challenge de l’Obst. Equinaxy) takes place over 3,700 metres. The race is for horses aged five and older and carries €19,000 in prize money.

Eight runners are scheduled to take part in this claiming event. The race provides a different test from the opener, with the older-horse category and 3,700-metre trip likely to place the emphasis on experience and stamina.

The Prix des Benevoles aux Restos du Coeur (Prix de l’Orbiquet) follows at 3:28pm. This Classe 1 contest is restricted to three-year-old horses and covers 3,400 metres, with €48,000 available.

Only five runners are listed, but the race has strong status within the afternoon programme. The 3,400-metre distance should provide a searching test for the younger horses as they tackle the obstacles and the demands of a competitive Classe 1 event.

At 4:03pm, Clairefontaine stages the Prix des Collectes aux Restos du Coeur (Prix de la Dorette). The Classe 3 event is for three-year-old horses and offers €34,000 over 3,400 metres.

Six runners are listed for the fourth race. With another three-year-old contest following the previous event, the race provides further opportunities to assess the emerging generation over a similar distance.

The fifth event, the Prix des Donateurs et Partenaires des Restos du Coeur (Prix des Aconites), begins at 4:38pm. The contest is open to three-year-old horses and will be run over 3,700 metres.

Classified as a Classe 2 race, it carries €37,000 and has seven runners. The longer distance compared with the two previous three-year-old events introduces an additional stamina element, making this another notable race on the card.

The Prix des Personnes Accueillies aux Restos (Prix Rigoureux) is scheduled for 5:13pm. This Classe 1 event is open to four-year-old horses and covers 3,600 metres.

Five runners are listed for the race, which carries €48,000. Its position late in the programme means it will provide another high-quality contest before the day’s concluding Listed handicap.

At 5:48pm, the Prix des Centres Restos du Calvados (Prix de Ranville) will be run over 3,600 metres. Open to horses aged five and older, the handicap carries €53,000.

The race has a field of 16 runners, making it one of the biggest contests of the afternoon. The combination of handicap conditions and a large field should make it an interesting test of jumping, pace and stamina.

The Clairefontaine meeting concludes with the Prix des Enfoires (Grande Course de Haies – Prix Guillaume d’Ornano) at 6:30pm. The €87,000 Listed handicap is clearly the headline race of the programme and brings together 16 horses aged five and older over 3,600 metres.

Overall, Clairefontaine’s August 17 card offers a balanced programme covering several age groups, race classes and distances. From the 3,900-metre opening event to the prestigious Listed finale, the meeting provides a full afternoon of jumps racing, with the Prix des Enfoires providing the principal attraction and the largest prize of the day.
