Epsom Downs Racecourse, one of Britain’s most distinguished racing venues, will host a competitive six-race programme on Friday, 14 August, with proceedings scheduled to begin at 2:48 PM and conclude at 5:48 PM. The card will offer prize money from £7,000 to £13,000, while the six contests will span distances from 6f 17y to 1m 2f 47y. The programme will provide a varied afternoon of racing, with nursery, novice and handicap events forming the principal features of the card.

The programme will open with The Nifty 50 Nursery Handicap Stakes (Class 5) at 2:48 PM. The five-runner contest will be staged over 7f 23y and will carry prize money of £8,500. Wise And Wonderful, Bincimbal, Greek Symphony, Minster Boy and Sequel Star will make up the field for the opening race, which will provide an early test over seven furlongs.

The afternoon will continue with The EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes (Class 3) (GBB Race) at 3:23 PM. The five-runner event will cover 7f 23y and will offer £13,000, making it the most valuable race on the programme. Tiora Time, Desert Symphony, Diplomata, Secret Flite and Tansy Lane will contest the race, with the field set to face another seven-furlong examination.

At 4:00 PM, The Classic Handicap Stakes (Class 4) will provide the third race on the card. The contest will be run over 6f 17y for £11,500, with eight runners set to line up. Ruby’s Profit, Sir Garfield, Angel Gabriel, Kolkata Knight, On Edge and Stellar Vision will be among the declared runners, with the shorter distance set to bring speed and tactical positioning into sharper focus.

The fourth contest, The Play Fred’s £5 Million Handicap Stakes (Class 6), will take place at 4:38 PM. The race will cover 1m 2f 47y and will carry £7,000 in prize money. Eleven runners will be scheduled to compete, making it the largest field of the afternoon. Mrembo, Gretna Dreams, Offiah’s Boy, Haveagobeau, Celtic Spirit and Pangbourne will be among those listed for the extended-distance handicap.

The penultimate race will be The Double Delight Handicap Stakes (Class 4) at 5:13 PM. Four runners will contest the 1m 143y race, which will be worth £11,500. Chantelle, Loblolly, Trio and Mystic Moment will comprise the field for the Class 4 event. With only four runners scheduled to take part, the race will present a compact field over a distance just beyond a mile.

The programme will draw to a close with The Follow Us On X Handicap Stakes (Class 5) at 5:48 PM. The nine-runner contest will be held over 7f 23y and will offer £8,500 in prize money. A La Noche, Red Mirage, King of War, Freddie’s Star, Ararat and Play Me will be among the runners set to feature in the final race, bringing the afternoon’s six-race schedule to its conclusion.

The Epsom Downs Race Cards 14 August will feature six races, with prize money reaching £13,000 and contests ranging from 6f 17y to 1m 2f 47y. The programme will include five-, eight-, nine- and 11-runner fields across a mixture of nursery, novice and handicap races.
