On January 8, 2025, the Mysore Race Course hosted an exciting day of horse racing, featuring seven thrilling contests. The day at Mysore Race Course showcased some exceptional performances, thrilling finishes, and competitive spirit, leaving racing enthusiasts thoroughly entertained.
The day began with The Himalayas Plate, a race for three-year-old horses over a distance of 1200 meters. The total prize money for the race was ₹10,00,000. AASHIRVAD, trained by C.D. Monnappa and ridden by jockey L. Alex Rozario, clinched victory with a time of 1:12.63 and took home ₹5,00,000. NATURAL LOOK, trained by Vinesh V. Naik and ridden by Yash Narredu, secured second place with a time of 1:13.97, earning ₹2,50,000. FALCON FURY, trained by M. Pratap Kamath and ridden by jockey Angad, finished third in 1:13.99 and won ₹1,25,000. The fourth-place finisher was awarded ₹62,505, while the fifth and sixth places earned ₹37,495 and ₹25,000, respectively.
The second race, The Antequera Plate, was a Class 4 event for horses aged six years and older, rated 20 to 45. Covering a distance of 1400 meters, the race offered a total prize pool of ₹4,50,000. MINX, trained by C. Girinath and ridden by M. Rajesh Kumar, won the race in 1:25.50, claiming ₹2,25,000. IGNORANCE IS BLISS, trained by Ranjeet Shinde and ridden by Abhishek Mhatre, finished second in 1:25.76, earning ₹1,12,500. The third spot went to EYE THE MIND, trained by M. Pratap Kamath and ridden by Angad, who completed the race in 1:26.03 and secured ₹56,250. The fourth, fifth, and sixth-place finishers received ₹28,130, ₹16,870, and ₹11,250, respectively.
The third race, The Crystal Man Plate, was a Class 5 event for horses aged six years and older, rated 00 to 25, over 1400 meters. The total prize pool was ₹3,75,000. MIRACLE HONEY, trained by S. Ashwin Rao and ridden by Koshi Kumar, emerged victorious with a time of 1:26.36, earning ₹1,87,505. FELICITA, trained by R. Helleal Moses and ridden by Abhishek Mhatre, finished second in 1:26.74 and took home ₹93,750. ISLAND LASS, trained by C.D. Monnappa and ridden by Faiz, secured third place with a time of 1:26.81, winning ₹46,875. The remaining finishers were awarded ₹23,435, ₹14,060, and ₹9,375 for the fourth, fifth, and sixth places, respectively.
In the fourth race, The Sirsi Plate Div-2, a Class 4 race for horses rated 20 to 45 over 1200 meters, TO HOT TO TOUCH took the top spot. Trained by M. Pratap Kamath and ridden by Abhishek Mhatre, the horse completed the race in 1:13.01, earning ₹2,25,000 out of the ₹4,50,000 prize pool. STREET SENSE, trained by Feroz M. Khan and ridden by R.N. Darshan, finished second in 1:13.45, winning ₹1,12,500. BEAUTIFUL BLOOM, trained by M. Bobby and ridden by S. Madhu Sudhan, claimed third place in 1:13.74, taking ₹56,250. The fourth, fifth, and sixth positions received ₹28,130, ₹16,870, and ₹11,250, respectively.
The fifth race of the day, The Dr. Ishwari G.K. Balakrishnan Memorial Trophy, was a Class 2 event for horses rated 60 and above. Covering 1400 meters, the race had a total prize pool of ₹7,00,000. MYSTIC BOND, trained by M. Pratap Kamath and ridden by K. Rajesh, won the race in 1:23.25, earning ₹3,50,000. CONTRIBUTOR, trained by G.T. Surender and ridden by Koshi Kumar, took second place in 1:23.78 and won ₹1,75,000. CONTRIBUTOR also finished third in 1:24.09 under the training of M. Bobby and ridden by M.
