The spotlight fell on The Karnataka Mile Championship Cup as racing continued at the Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) during the Bangalore Summer Meeting on Sunday, 26th July 2026. Run over 1600 metres for horses aged four years old and over, the 5th race ended with ALFONSINE producing a commanding display for Yash Narredu, trainer S. John, and owner Mr P. Arun Kumar in 1:35.44.
The Bangalore race result 26th July produced another notable success as Alfonsine settled into a comfortable rhythm before quickening decisively in the home straight. Yash Narredu timed his challenge to perfection, allowing the seasoned runner to assert authority inside the closing furlong and maintain the advantage through the winning post. The victory further underlined the excellent condition in which the S. John-trained runner entered the championship contest.
MAYNE MAGIC chased the winner home to finish second in 1:35.66 under Antony Raj S. for trainer Kishan Thomas K., while NONPARIEL, partnered by K. Mukesh Kumar (HYD) and trained by D. Netto, stayed on strongly to claim third in 1:35.71, with only narrow margins separating the first three finishers.
Attention then shifted to the 6th race, The Salazaar Plate, run at 4:30 PM over 1200 metres for Class II horses rated 60 to 85. AQUASTIC, carrying the hopes of owner Mr S. Pathy, justified strong support with an impressive victory under Akshay Kumar for trainer S.S. Attaollahi, recording 1:11.26. Stablemate STELLANTIS, ridden by P. Trevor, completed a one-two for the Attaollahi yard by finishing second in 1:11.75, while N R I ACE, partnered by Neeraj Rawal for trainer Md Sajid Qureshi, secured third in 1:12.08.
The meeting continued with the 7th race, The Lumbini Stud Plate DIV I, held at 5:00 PM over 1200 metres for Class III horses rated 40 to 65. AKITANIA, representing Sarainaga Racing Pvt. Ltd., delivered a determined performance under S. Sachin to hand trainer James McKeown another valuable success, clocking 1:11.82. PERFECT ATTITUDE, ridden by Antony Raj S. for trainer Arjun Mangalorkar, finished second in 1:11.95, while SAPPORO, partnered by Arvind Kumar N. and trained by Irfan Ghatala, completed the placings in 1:12.09.
With three more quality contests successfully completed, the Bangalore Summer Meeting continued to gather momentum as the day’s remaining races promised further action on an entertaining Sunday card.
