The Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) witnessed an exciting start to the Pune Meeting, 2nd Day, Friday, 24th July 2026, as EKLA CHOLO (J: A. Sandesh) secured victory in the 1st Race – The Ismail Khan Plate, a Terms race for 4-year-old and older horses over 1000 metres, held at 01:00 PM. Racing in the colours of Mr Faisal A Abbas, EKLA CHOLO produced a determined performance for trainer Faisal A. Abbas, stopping the clock at 1:00:095 to claim the opening race of the day.
The Pune race result 24th July saw EKLA CHOLO display excellent speed and control from the early stages of the contest. Under a well-timed ride from A. Sandesh, the winner maintained a strong position before finding an extra gear in the closing stages to edge ahead and secure the verdict. The combination of tactical positioning and a sharp finishing effort proved decisive as EKLA CHOLO crossed the line with authority.
DANCING CLOUD (J: K. Nazil, T: Hosidar Daji) gave a strong challenge throughout the race and finished a close second, recording a time of 1:00:122. SAMSON (J: J. Chinoy, T: Narendra Lagad) completed the top three finishers after clocking 1:00:267, staying on well to secure the final podium position.
With the opening race of the Pune card completed, attention now turns towards the The Atomic Prince Plate, scheduled for 01:30 PM, as the afternoon’s racing action continues at RWITC.
