Britain’s historic Leicester Racecourse will stage a competitive six-race Flat meeting on Wednesday, 22 July, with the opening contest scheduled for 6:20pm. The evening programme will feature a blend of novice, fillies’ and handicap events for three-year-olds and older horses, with races ranging from 5 furlongs to 1 mile 3 furlongs 179 yards. The card will offer prize money ranging from £6,000 to £16,000 across the six contests, providing a varied schedule of sprint and middle-distance races for the participants.

Opening the evening’s proceedings at 6:20pm, The British EBF Novice Stakes (Class 4) (GBB Race) will take place over 5 furlongs with £10,000 in prize money available. The four-runner contest will feature Star Velocity, Court Alert, El Ghuwah and Red Legs, who will compete in the first race of the meeting. The event will provide an early opportunity for developing runners to compete over the shorter distance.

Continuing the programme, The Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap Stakes (Class 6) will be held at 6:50pm over 1 mile 53 yards, carrying prize money of £6,000. The three-year-old event will attract six runners, including Able Astra, Lope Y Linda, Buckland Belle, Ivat Ghia, Dora Vita and Sporty Socks. The race will add further depth to the card with a competitive field over the extended mile distance.

Adding further variety to the fixture, The Join Racing TV Today Fillies’ Handicap Stakes (Class 5) will follow at 7:20pm over 1 mile 3 furlongs 179 yards. The £7,000 contest will feature four runners aged three years and older, with Liveinthelight, Musical Accord, Semper Femina and Caraway set to line up. The longer distance will provide a different challenge compared with the opening sprint events.

As the meeting progresses, The Family Sunday 10th August Book Now Handicap Stakes (Class 6) will be staged at 7:50pm over 1 mile 2 furlongs. The six-runner contest will carry £6,000 in prize money and will include Kameel, Ricardo Phillips, Hachiman, Typeface, Clipsham Noble and Turton. The event will continue the evening’s mix of handicap races across varying distances.

One of the highlights of the evening card, The British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Handicap Stakes (Class 4), will take place at 8:20pm. The 6 furlong contest will offer £16,000 in prize money and will feature six runners, including Zen Diva, Cotai Belle, Miss Nightcap, Afraj, Romantic Twilight and Amelia’s Joy. As the highest-valued contest on the programme, the race will bring together a strong line-up of fillies and mares.

Closing the six-race programme, The Kube – Leicester’s Premier Exhibition Venue Handicap Stakes (Class 6) will be contested at 8:50pm over 6 furlongs for £6,000. The eight-runner event will feature three-year-olds including Portacloy, Crafty Blue, The Tunguska Event, Goldenstateofmind, Maximum Velocity, Landslide, Pimentel and Apex Star. The final race will complete an evening featuring a broad range of Flat racing categories.

The Leicester fixture will provide a balanced evening of Flat racing, combining sprint and middle-distance contests across different race categories. The variety of events will create a competitive programme featuring developing runners and experienced performers, while the structured six-race schedule will offer a complete evening of racing action.
