The Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) hosted the 3rd Race – The Mumbai Cup during the Bangalore Summer Meeting, 22nd Day, Sunday, 12th July 2026. The Class I event for horses rated 80 and above was contested over 1200 metres at 01:45 PM, where MASATO delivered a strong performance to secure victory under A. Ashhad Asbar for trainer S John, representing owner Mr P Arun Kumar, clocking a winning time of 1:10.99. The Bangalore race result 12th July saw MASATO produce a commanding display in the sprint contest to register a memorable success.
Breaking from the gates with purpose, MASATO travelled smoothly through the early stages of the race and showed excellent pace control over the 1200-metre journey. Under a well-timed ride from A. Ashhad Asbar, the winner responded strongly in the final furlong and pulled ahead of his rivals to secure the Mumbai Cup with authority.
ECHOES OF TIME finished as the runner-up, giving a strong account of himself under jockey Neeraj Rawal for trainer Aravind G., stopping the clock at 1:11.07. STAR GLORY secured third place under M. Prabhakaran for trainer S. Narredu, completing the race in 1:11.67.
With the Mumbai Cup concluded, attention now turns towards the next contest of the day, The Patel and Patel Racing LLP B.T.C Anniversary Cup, scheduled for 02:15 PM, as the Bangalore Summer Meeting continues with more exciting racing action.
