The second race of the day at Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) today (Sunday) was The Indian Pattern Committee Trophy Div I, a Class IV event for horses rated 20 to 45 over 1200 metres, which took place at 1:15 PM. In the Bangalore race result 12th July, IDI MINNAL produced a determined performance to score under Md Ashraf Reza for trainer Aravind G., stopping the clock in 1:12.37. Racing in the colours of Mr Aravind Ganapathy, the winner displayed plenty of early speed and resilience to secure another notable success.
Breaking smartly from the gates, IDI MINNAL settled into a prominent position before travelling comfortably through the early stages. As the field straightened for home, Md Ashraf Reza asked the gelding for his effort, and the response was immediate. Maintaining a strong gallop over the closing furlong, the Aravind G.-trained runner held off persistent challengers to register a well-earned victory in convincing fashion.
A GREAT BUZZ finished a creditable second for jockey P. Trevor and trainer Irfan Ghatala, clocking 1:12.74 after making a sustained late challenge. WAITARA, partnered by Aleemuddin and trained by Arjun Mangalorkar, stayed on gamely to finish third in 1:12.77, with the leading trio separated by only narrow margins at the finish.
Attention at Bangalore now turns to the third race, The Mumbai Cup, scheduled for 1:45 PM, as the afternoon’s competitive programme continues to gather momentum.
