The Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) hosted another exciting contest during the Bangalore Summer Meeting, 20th day, Sunday, 5th July 2026, as the 5th race, The Galilee Plate, a Class IV race for horses rated 20 to 45 over 1800 metres, was run at 4:30 PM. In a dramatic finish, MANDATE, ridden by Aleemuddin, produced a determined performance to score for trainer Arjun Mangalorkar, stopping the clock at 1:51.88 for owners Mr Haider Soomar, Mr Rajan Aggarwal & Mr Chandrakanth Kankaria. This Bangalore race result 5th July showcased one of the closest finishes of the afternoon, with the winner prevailing by the narrowest of margins.

Settled comfortably through the early stages, MANDATE travelled strongly before Aleemuddin angled the gelding into contention entering the home straight. Responding gamely under pressure, the winner found just enough in the closing strides to fend off a determined late challenge, sealing victory by the slimmest possible margin in a thrilling finish that had spectators on edge until the post.
The runner-up honours went to ANGELISA, partnered by Yash Narredu for trainer P. Shroff, who finished just a fraction behind in 1:51.89 after producing a sustained late run. STENTORIAN, ridden by Darshan R.N and trained by S. Narredu, stayed on steadily to secure third place in 1:52.97, completing a competitive renewal of The Galilee Plate.
With another gripping contest added to the afternoon’s programme, attention now shifts to The Southern Empire Plate, scheduled for 5:00 PM, where another competitive field will look to leave its mark on the Bangalore Summer Meeting.
