Flat Racing Returns to Beverley with Six-Race Friday Fixture

Beverley Racecourse will stage a competitive six-race Flat meeting on Friday, 3 July, with the opening race scheduled for 6:00pm and the finale due off at 8:40pm. The evening fixture will feature contests for apprentices, juveniles, handicappers and experienced performers across Class 4 and Class 6 company, with total prize money spread across six races and distances ranging from five furlongs to one mile and four furlongs.

The meeting will begin with the Apprentice Handicap Stakes (Class 6) at 6:00pm. The race will be run over 1m 4f 23y, will offer £7,650 in prize money and will be open to horses aged four years and older. The expected five-runner field will include Taylormade Lad, Sisterandbrother, Havachoc, Bruce Banner and Speechman.

The second contest, the Fillies’ Novice Stakes (Class 4) (GBB Race), will start at 6:30pm. Worth £10,000, the 5f race will be restricted to two-year-old fillies and is expected to attract eight runners. Among those entered are Eevee Star, Fast Track, Isca Bay, Miss Havisham, Nightbloom and Northern Viola, with the remainder completing the line-up.

At 7:02pm, the Handicap Stakes (Class 4) will provide another sprint contest over 5f. Open to three-year-olds and upwards, the race will carry prize money of £12,650 and is expected to feature nine runners including I’m Next, Elegant Erin, Emperor Spirit, Master Of My Fate, Tiva and Duran.

The Selling Stakes (Class 6) will follow at 7:35pm over 1m 100y. The contest will be worth £7,000 and will be open to three-year-olds and older. The four declared runners are expected to be Nepal, Blufferonthebus, Midnight Strike and Catton Lady.

Race five is scheduled for 8:10pm, when the Handicap Stakes (Class 6) will be run over 1m 100y. The contest will offer £7,650 in prize money for three-year-olds. Expected runners include Singarda, Hatamoto, Amber Hamur, Ten Sixty Six, Itszaboy and Mali Star, alongside the remaining declared horses.

The meeting will conclude with the Handicap Stakes (Class 6) at 8:40pm. Run over 7f 96y, the closing race will also be worth £7,650 and is open to horses aged four years and older. The expected field of eleven includes Jesmond Dawn, Travis, Qazaq, Tropez Power, Reginald Charles and Dr Rio.

The six-race fixture will provide a balanced programme featuring staying contests, sprint handicaps, a juvenile novice event and races for developing apprentices. With competitive fields across the evening, the meeting will continue another busy day in the British Flat racing calendar and is expected to attract interest from racing followers throughout the country.
