The afternoon began at 1:08pm with the British EBF Restricted Novice Stakes (Class 5) over six furlongs. Kodiak Breeze (IRE), partnered by Shane Gray, made an impressive start to proceedings. Showing good early speed, the youngster travelled comfortably before finding another gear in the closing stages to secure the opening race. The performance suggested the horse has the potential to continue progressing in future assignments.

The second division of the British EBF Restricted Novice Stakes (Class 5) followed at 1:38pm, again over six furlongs. Arapaho Gold (IRE), ridden by Connor Beasley, delivered another polished display. Settled nicely during the early stages, the horse responded strongly when asked for an effort in the home straight and finished with authority to record a deserved victory.

The British EBF Novice Stakes (Class 4) over seven furlongs and 218 yards took centre stage at 2:08pm. North Force (IRE), with Warren Fentiman in the saddle, demonstrated both pace and composure. Remaining prominent throughout the contest, the horse produced a sustained challenge inside the final furlong to cross the finish line in convincing fashion. The first handicap of the day arrived at 2:40pm with the Army Benevolent Fund Handicap Stakes (Class 6) over six furlongs. Barmyblade (IRE), partnered by David Allan, delivered a determined performance from start to finish. Travelling smoothly before making a decisive move approaching the final furlong, Saucy Jane displayed plenty of determination to pull clear and register an impressive victory in the memorial contest.

The day’s longest race came at 3:40pm in the Weatherbys Racing Bank Handicap Stakes (Class 4) over one mile, four furlongs and eight yards. Parisian Scholar, partnered by Jason Hart, displayed stamina and patience throughout the journey. After settling comfortably in the early stages, the horse gradually improved position before producing a strong finishing effort to take the race in convincing style. The victory highlighted the horse’s ability to stay the extended distance with confidence.

Sprint action returned at 4:10pm with the Weatherbys Global Stallions App Handicap Stakes (Class 3) over six furlongs. Indian Run (IRE), guided by Ryan Sexton, produced a polished display against competitive opposition. Racing with confidence throughout, Indian Run accelerated well inside the closing stages to record an impressive success in one of the higher-class contests on the card.

The meeting concluded at 4:40pm with the William Hill Summer Cup Saturday 1st August Book Now Handicap Stakes (Class 5) over seven furlongs. Farandaway (IRE), ridden by Oliver Stammers, ensured the afternoon ended on a high note with a determined victory. Remaining well-positioned throughout the contest, the horse produced a strong finishing run to secure the final race of the day.

The Thirsk meeting once again highlighted the strength and depth of British Flat racing. The novice races showcased several horses beginning their racing careers with encouraging performances, while the handicap contests demonstrated the competitiveness and consistency of experienced runners.
