The 2026 Inglis Ready2Race Sale has opened entries following a season that has strengthened its position as one of Australasia’s leading two-year-old sales. The auction enters its latest chapter with growing international interest and a strong record of producing high-class racehorses, including Group 1 winners Tron Bolt and Libertad.

The Inglis Ready2Race Sale has continued to build momentum, with buyers and vendors increasingly recognising its ability to showcase emerging talent. The 2025 edition produced a gross of $20.017 million, marking a 28 per cent rise compared with the previous year and underlining the sale’s rapid growth.

The 2026 Inglis Ready2Race Sale will be held at Riverside on Thursday, October 15, just two days before the Group 1 The Everest, with breeze-up sessions scheduled at Warwick Farm on September 25, Taupo on September 28 and Wangaratta on September 29.

The Inglis Ready2Race Sale remains a key event for owners, trainers and bloodstock professionals searching for the next generation of racing prospects.

The 2025 auction achieved an 81 per cent clearance rate, the highest among Australasian two-year-old sales over the previous three years. The median price reached $100,000, matching Inglis’ own record for any Australasian two-year-old sale, while the average climbed to $151,644, the strongest figure across the region.

Recent years have seen leading trainers and racing operations involved at the sale, with buyers including prominent Australian and international names attracted by the quality of horses presented.

The rise in demand for better-performed lots has been particularly noticeable. More than half of last year’s sold catalogue reached $100,000 or above, while the top-priced youngster made $900,000, becoming the highest-priced two-year-old sold at an Australasian breeze-up sale in 2025.

The success of graduates has played a major role in strengthening the sale’s reputation. Alongside Tron Bolt and Libertad, recent graduates such as Hard Kick, Queen Regent and Mbube have added further depth to the sale’s growing honour roll.

Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch said the progress of the sale reflected years of investment and continued support from vendors.

“There is incredible momentum behind this sale,” Hutch said.

He added that while the emergence of Group 1 winners had brought attention to the auction, the wider record of graduates showed the quality being produced year after year.

“The graduate success is there for all to see,” Hutch said, pointing to a growing list of talented horses developed through the sale.

The 2026 Inglis Ready2Race Sale is expected to attract strong interest from domestic and overseas buyers, with Sydney’s racing calendar providing an added attraction for visitors. Organisers believe the combination of quality stock, a proven format and increasing demand can make the upcoming edition the strongest yet.

Hutch encouraged vendors considering two-year-old sales this season to explore the opportunities available through the Inglis platform, saying the event has become an important fixture on the bloodstock calendar.
