The Bangalore Turf Club (BTC), officially known as the Bangalore Turf Club Limited, witnessed another competitive finish during the Bangalore Summer Meeting, 18th day, on Sunday, 28th June 2026. The 7th race, The Desert God Plate, a Class IV contest for horses rated 20 to 45 over 1600 metres, was held at 05:00 PM, where IMPERADOR produced a determined performance to claim victory. The winner stopped the clock at 1:37.09 under jockey Vishal N Bunde for trainer Prasanna Kumar, racing in the colours of Ms Arun Alagappan Racing LLP, Mr MP Vikram, Mr A S Karthik Chandra, Mr Ronak J Kimmane and Mr Ananth Iyengar. This result added another exciting chapter to the Bangalore race result 28th June coverage from BTC.
IMPERADOR settled into the race with confidence before making his move when the pace began to build in the final stages. Guided perfectly by Vishal N Bunde, the winner showed strong acceleration in the straight and maintained his advantage under pressure to secure the Desert God Plate. The victory reflected a well-timed ride and a strong finish over the mile distance.
The runner-up honours went to REGAL ARISTOCRACY (J: Antony Raj S., T: James Mckeown), who stayed close throughout and finished strongly in 1:37.30. PLEDGE (J: Akshay Kumar, T: Darius R. Byramji) completed the top three after a competitive effort, recording a finishing time of 1:37.52.
With the Desert God Plate concluded, attention now turns towards the upcoming races on the Bangalore Summer Meeting card, where more exciting finishes are expected from the leading contenders.
