At the picturesque Windsor Racecourse, a varied seven-race Flat programme will be staged on Saturday, 27 June, with the opening race scheduled for 5:15pm and the finale set for 8:15pm. The evening fixture will offer more than £72,000 in prize money across apprentice, novice and handicap contests, covering distances from 5 furlongs and 21 yards to 1 mile, 3 furlongs and 116 yards. Competitive field sizes and a balanced mix of sprint and middle-distance races will ensure another busy evening of British Flat racing.

The card will open at 5:15pm with the Total Task Consultancy Prosperity Apprentice Handicap Stakes (Class 6) over 1 mile and 48 yards. The opening contest will carry £7,200 in prize money and has attracted six runners. Shes Got The Blues, My Old Mate, Buckland Belle, Labiche, She’s Crafty and Lapidarist are expected to line up in a race that will give apprentice riders an early opportunity to make their mark over the mile trip.

The second race will be run at 5:45pm when the Restricted Novice Stakes (Class 5) (GBB Race) takes centre stage. The contest will be worth £8,000 and will be run over 5 furlongs and 21 yards, with eight runners expected to compete. Blondie Larry, Trust Yourself, Wolf’s Gallop, Cash Flow Boy, Nascent Star and Seathegulls feature among the declared runners, while the race will provide another valuable outing for several lightly raced sprinters.

The programme will continue at 6:15pm with the The Wonder of Asia Handicap Stakes (Class 4). Run over 6 furlongs and 12 yards, the race will offer £10,800 in prize money and has attracted the evening’s largest field of 12 runners. Betsen, Desert Cop, Star Chorus, Kiniro, An Outlaw’s Grace and Dublin Bay are among the expected contenders in what will be one of the most competitive handicap contests on the card.

At 6:45pm, runners will line up for the Sri Lanka Handicap Stakes (Class 5) over 5 furlongs and 21 yards. The £8,400 sprint has drawn eight runners, including Quantum Power, Alkuwarrior, Angel Numbers, Dark Alley, Control Room and Guernsey Lady. The contest will continue the evening’s emphasis on competitive sprint racing before attention shifts to the later middle-distance events.

The fifth race is scheduled for 7:15pm and will be the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes (Class 3) (GBB/GBBPLUS Race). Worth £12,000, the race will be contested over 1 mile, 2 furlongs and 17 yards. Although the field numbers only four runners, Peace And Quiet, Gonna Fly, Ruler Of Time and Lunella will meet in a contest that will offer another important opportunity for progressive middle-distance performers.

The feature event of the meeting will arrive at 7:45pm with the Paradise Island Handicap Stakes (Class 3) (GBBPLUS Race). The race will be run over 1 mile, 3 furlongs and 116 yards and will offer the evening’s highest prize fund of £18,400. Eight runners are due to compete, including Claymore, King’s Code, Spioradalta, Majestic, Fireblade and Wisper, ensuring a competitive staying handicap to headline the programme.

The final race of the evening will take place at 8:15pm with the Fillies’ Handicap Stakes (Class 5). The closing contest will cover 1 mile, 3 furlongs and 116 yards and will be worth £8,400. Five runners are expected to line up, namely Hot Silk, Glenna, Ticker Tape, Kindly Queen and Mohaab, bringing the seven-race programme to its conclusion.

The Saturday fixture will provide a well-balanced programme featuring apprentice, novice and handicap races across a variety of distances. Healthy prize funds, competitive fields and opportunities for both emerging and experienced performers will make the Windsor meeting another notable evening on the British Flat racing calendar.
