The Inglis Digital June (Late) Online Sale produced a strong finish on Tuesday as Group 2-winning filly Double Market emerged as the headline act, selling for $200,000 after attracting attention from buyers across the industry. The daughter of Castelvecchio, offered by Lindsay Park, was secured by Geoff Walsh and will now begin the next chapter of her career as a broodmare prospect.

Double Market was the standout performer of the session, with her racing record and physical presence helping her rise to the top of the catalogue. Walsh revealed that the mare is likely to be served by young stallion Anamoe this season, a mating he believes could create an exciting future.

“I’ve got a nom to Anamoe, I think he’s the complete package,” Walsh said. “He kept racing and won in every year that he was racing, and he is also a very attractive stallion.”

The sale result reflected the confidence surrounding the mare’s potential as a future producer. Walsh said bloodstock adviser Jim Clarke rated Double Market highly, particularly for her strength and physique, believing she had the qualities needed to become a successful broodmare.

Double Market was the top lot of the Inglis Digital June Sale, a session that delivered several notable outcomes.

Walsh added that he had been searching for another mare to strengthen his breeding operation and felt Double Market matched his requirements. Lindsay Park’s Josh Rix was also pleased with the outcome and praised the efforts behind the mare’s presentation.

“We’re really happy with this result for our owners and appreciate the work done to market her,” Rix said, adding that he believed she would make a quality broodmare.

The second-highest result of the day came from six-year-old mare Takemine, who was sold for $160,000 to Michael Pitt. The daughter of Hellbent is a three-quarter sister to Chayan, a mare who achieved a significant result at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale earlier this year.

Pitt confirmed that Takemine would be retired from racing and sent to stud, with her breeding plans to be decided after discussions with his team. He highlighted the strength of her family page and the potential of the bloodline as key reasons behind his interest.

“I’ve been looking for another nice mare for a while and when I saw her in the catalogue, her breeding and the family behind her stood out,” Pitt said.

Takemine’s ownership group was delighted with the outcome, with Jack Cavanough describing the result as a rewarding conclusion to her racing career. He also praised the team involved in preparing and promoting the mare.

The June (Late) Sale finished with a gross total of $3,125,450, with other significant transactions adding depth to the session. Dayeala, in foal to The Autumn Sun, sold for $120,000, while a draft of 10 racehorses from Godolphin generated $435,500, led by three-year-old Comedy, who changed hands for $95,000.

The month proved another productive period for the platform, following the earlier June (Early) Sale which exceeded $4 million in total sales. The recent introduction of the Bull Ring also added another milestone, with Group 1-winning entire Reserve Bank finding a new home last week.

With entries now open for the Inglis Digital July (Early) Sale, the momentum from recent sessions is expected to continue as breeders and owners prepare for the next catalogue.
