Royal Ascot concluded with Coolmore collecting the leading owner award for the seventh time, while trainer Aidan O’Brien and jockey Ryan Moore once again claimed top honours after a memorable week of achievements at the famous meeting.

The success of the Coolmore partnerships, featuring Sue Magnier, Derrick Smith, Michael Tabor, Westerberg, Peter Brant and Cayton Park Stud, marked one of their strongest campaigns at the fixture. Their runners recorded eight victories across the week, the highest number since the leading owner award was introduced in 2017.

Royal Ascot results reflected a dominant week for Coolmore, with the ownership group securing eight winners and creating a new record for the award era.

O’Brien was responsible for seven of those victories, matching his previous best tally from 2016 and securing his 14th leading trainer title at the meeting. He finished two winners ahead of his son Joseph O’Brien, adding another significant chapter to his remarkable Royal Ascot record.

The week also brought a landmark moment for O’Brien when Scandinavia captured the Gold Cup on Thursday after a thrilling battle with Trawlerman. The victory marked his 100th success at Royal Ascot and added further importance to an already outstanding campaign.

Mission Central’s win in the King Charles III Stakes on the opening day also completed a rare achievement for O’Brien, as he became the only trainer to have won every Group 1 race currently staged at Royal Ascot. The Duke Of Cambridge Stakes remains the only Group race at the meeting yet to fall his way.

Other winners for the Ballydoyle trainer and Coolmore included Great Barrier Reef in the Coventry Stakes, Victorious in the Queen Mary Stakes, Precise in the Coronation Stakes, Causeway in the King Edward VII Stakes and Illinois in the Queen Alexandra Stakes. Coolmore also shared ownership and breeding involvement in Thesecretadversary, who won the Jersey Stakes for trainer Fozzy Stack.

Aidan O’Brien praised the efforts of the entire team behind the achievement, highlighting the contribution of owners, riders, stable staff, breeders, veterinary teams and everyone involved across Ballydoyle and Coolmore operations.

“It has been a brilliant week. A lot of people have put in a lot of hard work,” O’Brien said. “It’s a massive team, plus all the people on the farms and offices, vets and farriers. That’s what makes it happen.”

Reflecting on Scandinavia’s Gold Cup victory, O’Brien described the performance as something special, especially against an experienced champion in Trawlerman.

“The Gold Cup is the longest race, it’s the race everyone wants to see and captures everyone’s imagination,” he added.

Moore also enjoyed a standout week, claiming his 13th leading jockey title at Royal Ascot. He partnered all of O’Brien’s winners except Great Barrier Reef, which was ridden by Wayne Lordan, and also guided Joseph O’Brien-trained Enceladus to victory in the King George V Stakes.

Illinois’ victory in the Queen Alexandra Stakes on the final day moved Moore to 99 Royal Ascot winners, leaving him on the verge of reaching a century at the meeting next year.

“It does mean plenty, when you win it’s great and when you lose it hurts,” Moore said. “I just keep coming back and take it race by race and day by day.”

The achievements of Coolmore, Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore once again underlined their lasting influence on international racing, with the week producing records, milestones and memorable performances.

The week at Royal Ascot once again showcased the depth of talent and preparation behind some of the biggest names in racing. With memorable victories, record achievements and emotional moments, Coolmore, Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore added another significant chapter to their long-standing success story at one of the sport’s most prestigious meetings.
