The Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) witnessed an impressive finish in the 6th race of the Bangalore Summer Meeting, 15th day, on Saturday, 20th June 2026, as BRIGHT THUNDER (J: Akshay Kumar) secured a stylish victory in The Prabalo Plate. The Class IV contest for horses rated 20 to 45 was contested over 1200 metres at 04:30 PM, where BRIGHT THUNDER delivered a strong performance to claim the top spot for owners Manjri Horse Breeders’ Farm Pvt Ltd, Mr Aditya P Thackersey & Mr Rajan Aggarwal, clocking a winning time of 1:13.66. Trained by Darius R. Byramji, BRIGHT THUNDER displayed excellent pace and control throughout the contest. The winner travelled smoothly during the early stages before producing a decisive turn of foot in the final stretch to pull away from the field. The well-timed ride by Akshay Kumar ensured BRIGHT THUNDER maintained the advantage and crossed the winning post with authority.
The runner-up position was secured by WINDCLEAVER (J: A. Sandesh, T: Vishesh M.P.), who put in a determined effort and finished the race in 1:14.67. INICIO (J: Vishal N Bunde, T: S John) completed the top three, recording a time of 1:14.89 after staying in contention until the concluding stages.
