The fifth race of the Bangalore Summer Meeting, held on Sunday, 14th June 2026, at Bangalore Turf Club (BTC), witnessed an exciting finish as CROSSWATER captured The Stewards Cup, a Class II contest for horses rated 60 to 85 run over 1400 metres. Run at 03:30 PM, the feature attracted a competitive field and added another notable chapter to the Bangalore race result 14th June programme. Guided by Aleemuddin and trained by Arjun Mangalorkar, CROSSWATER delivered a determined performance to score in 1:28.20 for the owners, The Rajagiri Rubber & Produce Company Limited represented by Mr. & Mrs. Dilip Thomas.
Settled comfortably during the early stages, CROSSWATER travelled strongly before producing a sustained challenge in the home straight. Aleemuddin timed his effort to perfection, asking the gelding to quicken when the race began to intensify. Responding gamely under pressure, CROSSWATER found enough in the closing strides to fend off strong challenges from his rivals and secure a hard-earned victory in one of the closest finishes of the afternoon at BTC.
The runner-up position went to ELYSIUM, ridden by Akshay Kumar and trained by S.S. Attaollahi, who finished just fractions behind the winner in 1:28.29 after a courageous effort throughout the final furlong. STAR STUDDED, partnered by Darshan R.N. for trainer Rajesh Narredu, claimed third place in 1:28.39, making it a blanket finish with the leading trio separated by less than two-tenths of a second.
With The Stewards Cup now part of the record books, attention at Bangalore Turf Club swiftly turned towards the day’s next major attraction, The Zavaray S. Poonawalla Fillies Championship Stakes, scheduled for 04:00 PM, a prestigious contest expected to showcase some of the finest three-year-old fillies in training.
