Breeders across the region are being reminded that entries for the 2026 National Online Breeding Stock Sale must be submitted online by 10pm this Tuesday, 16 June, as the countdown begins toward one of the key seasonal offerings on the sales calendar.

The annual platform, hosted on Gavelhouse Plus, has steadily grown into an important marketplace for those looking to trade proven breeding assets at a time when preparation for the upcoming breeding season gathers pace.

This year’s edition is expected to once again attract a broad catalogue, ranging from quality off-the-track fillies and mares to established broodmares, alongside stallion shares and nominations. For many breeders, the timing offers a valuable window to position stock ahead of renewed breeding activity.

In recent years, the sale has delivered a string of standout results, reinforcing its reputation as a reliable outlet for high-end breeding stock. Over the past three editions, top lots have included Yearn, Asama Blue, Chanel’s Choice, and Dee and Gee, achieving returns of $195,000, $126,000, $115,000, and $105,000 respectively.

Industry observers note that demand for well-performed mares and commercial breeding opportunities has remained steady, particularly when presented through a focused, digital format that connects a wide audience of buyers and breeders.

As the deadline approaches, attention now turns to the final line-up and whether this year’s catalogue can match or surpass the strong results seen in previous editions of the National Online Breeding Stock Sale, which continues to carve out a distinct place in the breeding stock marketplace.
