A competitive afternoon of racing will unfold at the picturesque Great Yarmouth Racecourse on Thursday, 11 June, when a seven-race programme worth more than £57,000 in prize money will take centre stage. The fixture will feature a blend of apprentice handicaps, novice contests, classified events and middle-distance handicaps, with action scheduled to begin at 2:10pm and conclude at 5:35pm. Horses ranging from experienced campaigners to developing performers will contest races across distances from five furlongs to nearly one mile and four furlongs.

Launching the afternoon’s action, the Hands And Heels Apprentice Handicap Stakes (Class 6) will be contested at 2:10pm over 7f 3y. Open to horses aged four years and older, the race will offer £7,200 in prize money and will feature a field of seven runners. Divine Wish, Cooramook, Rusheen Boy, Sedgemoor, Bear To Dream, Heretic and My Boy Jack will bid to make a successful start to proceedings.

Stepping up the quality of competition, the Paul Corrigan Memorial Novice Stakes (Class 4) will take place at 2:45pm over 6f 3y. The contest will carry a purse of £10,000 and will be open to horses aged three years and older. A field of 10 runners is expected, including Anyasi, Court Alert, Debrief, George Wickham, Nevasca Cinza, Rogue Federation and Upper Hendersyde.

Adding further intrigue to the programme, the Moulton Racing Handicap Stakes (Class 5) will be run at 3:20pm over 5f 42y. Restricted to horses aged four years and older, the sprint will offer £8,400 in prize money. Existent, Neyva’s Angel, Al Barez, Travel Agent and Thunder Star will comprise the five-runner field.

Providing another competitive handicap test, the Handicap Stakes (Class 6) will be staged at 3:53pm over 6f 3y. The race will be worth £7,200 and will welcome horses aged four years and older. Court of Session, Mighty Ruler, Chasing Gold, Prefer The Sister, Walking On Clouds, Top Star and Coolagh Magic are among the runners expected to line up in the nine-runner contest.

Taking centre stage among the higher-grade races on the card, the Handicap Stakes (Class 4) will be contested at 4:28pm over 1m 3f 104y. Carrying prize money of £10,800, the race will be open to horses aged four years and older and is expected to attract eight runners. Fox Avatar, Patrol, Moonrunner, Baltic, High Point and First Officer headline the middle-distance contest.

Further depth will be added to the fixture through the Classified Stakes (Class 6) at 5:03pm. Run over 1m 2f 23y, the race will offer £6,600 in prize money and will be open to horses aged three years and older. Dors Delight, Sunset In Paris, Sweetstevie, Trackman, Wingstar, Wrist Art and Zafaan feature among the 11 runners set to compete.

Bringing the meeting to its conclusion, the Handicap Stakes (Class 6) for three-year-olds will be run at 5:35pm over 1m 3f 104y. The closing contest will carry a purse of £7,200 and has attracted nine runners. Bennyworth, Salamis Bay, Picaro, Darkest Red, Tenison, Premier Cru and Home Secretary are among those expected to take their place in the final event of the afternoon.

The varied programme will provide opportunities for both seasoned handicappers and emerging performers, while the mixture of sprint and staying contests will ensure a balanced afternoon of racing. With competitive fields assembled across all seven races, Great Yarmouth will host an engaging fixture from start to finish.
