A varied blend of maiden contests, handicaps and top-grade competition will headline Wednesday’s eight-race programme at Mysore Race Club. The afternoon fixture will begin at 1:30 PM and conclude at 5:00 PM, with more than ₹47 lakh in prize money set to be distributed across a card featuring runners from Class V company through to Class I level.
Opening proceedings will be The Arakalgudu Plate, a Maiden race for three-year-olds scheduled for 1:30 PM over 1100 metres with prize money of ₹10,50,000. AIR BENDER, to be ridden by N. Darshan, will be among the notable runners alongside PILOT OFFICER with S. Imran aboard and STORMRIDER under A. Ashhad Asbar. BORN RULER, COUNTRY’S WISH, DAZLING HAWK and MYSTICAL EVE will also line up in the opening contest.
Attention will then shift to The Chaitanya Chakram Plate (Division II), a Class V race for horses rated 0 to 25. Scheduled for 2:00 PM over 1100 metres and carrying a purse of ₹3,75,000, the contest will feature JUST BLUES with Arvind Kumar N., FASHIONISTA partnered by Lave Kumar, OUR ASSET under N. Darshan and SAINTLY STAR ridden by Koshi Kumar. WOMAN AT WAR, MADUVA THALAIVI, GOLDEN BEAST, MASTERCRAFT, GLEAM BELL, SUPER SEXY, FERONIA and COUNTRY’S FIRE will complete the field.
The competitive theme will continue in The Malavalli Plate (Division II), a Class IV contest for horses rated 20 to 45 due off at 2:30 PM over 1400 metres with prize money of ₹4,50,000. NATURAL DIAMOND will have Ankit Pal in the saddle, while SHEER ELEGANCE will be partnered by N. Darshan. SEIKO KATSU under C. Umesh and IRON KING with A. Ashhad Asbar aboard will also feature prominently. THE GREY GERANIUM, WALTER, ROYAL FALCON, SD QUEEN, D LORD, SINATRA, LUCKY POINT and DARSHIL will add further depth to the contest.
Mid-card interest will centre on The Chaitanya Chakram Plate (Division I), another Class V event for horses rated 0 to 25. The 1100-metre contest, worth ₹3,75,000, will be run at 3:00 PM and will bring together MR KARNATAKA with Mohd Talib, MY LIFE MY RULES ridden by B. Darshan Anthony, KINGSLAND under S. G. Prasad and WINDBORNE with Faiz aboard. HASTING SUNRISE, PLANET SUPER, ROYAL TAPESTRY, PURPLE MARTINI, JACK RICHER, WILD CHILD and BREAK AWAY will also take their chances.
The spotlight will then fall on The Malavalli Plate (Division I), a Class IV race over 1400 metres scheduled for 3:30 PM with prize money of ₹4,50,000. ADMIRAL SHAW will be ridden by B. Nikhil, AMAZING ARISE by L. Alex Rozario, CLOUDY HILLS by Arvind Kumar N. and GOLD FAME by Sah Farid Ansari. INDIAN GLORY, SWAGHATHAM, POLAR WIND, RED HILLS, SUPER STRIDE, O MANCHALI, D ROMAN REIGNS and FURIOUS FUN will strengthen the field.
Feature-race honours will belong to The Amba Vilas Palace Trophy, a Class I contest for horses rated 80 and above. Scheduled for 4:00 PM over 1200 metres with a prize fund of ₹10,50,000, the race will feature CROWN DRIVE with Aleemuddin, PURE FOR SURE under Faiz, IRON CLAD partnered by N. Ramesh Kumar and TOM CRUISER ridden by M. S. Deora. RAISE A BUCK, DECACORN, RISE AGAIN, PERFECT BLEND and GOLD KITE will complete a quality field for the afternoon’s headline event.
Staying performers will then come into focus in The Bidadi Plate, a Class IV contest over 1600 metres set for 4:30 PM and carrying prize money of ₹4,50,000. NATURAL WARRIOR with Rajesh K., REIGN OF TERROR under Faiz, COSETTE partnered by S. Imran and NATURAL SPEED ridden by Ankit Pal will be among the principal runners. CHIEF ADMIRAL, OCEAN OF GRACE, STARLIGHT WHISPER, COORG HILLS, GOLDEN SABRE, KALLANIA, DELSTAR and SADA will also be represented.
Bringing the programme to a close will be The Kollegal Plate, a Class III race for horses rated 40 to 65. The final contest will be run at 5:00 PM over 1400 metres with a total purse of ₹5,75,000. WINTER AGENDA, partnered by Faiz, will headline the entries alongside CYNOSURE with N. Darshan, NEVADA GOLD under Ankit Pal and SILENT ACHIEVER ridden by A. R. Pradeep. MAGIC CIRCLE, WORLDLY WISE, KLIMT, RED FALCON, BALGOWNIE, GROOVIN, THALAIVAA and SOUND OF CANON’S will complete the card.
With races ranging from maiden company to Class I level and distances stretching from 1100 to 1600 metres, the meeting will offer a balanced afternoon of racing featuring developing prospects, seasoned handicappers and proven performers.
