In the curtain-raising Rod Gaskin Garden Machinery Handicap Stakes (Class 3), the race unfolded at a steady tempo before TOYOTOMI produced a decisive late effort to strike in 1m 13.92s under Daniel Tudhope for trainer David O’Meara, owned by Jinky Farms. SUDDEN FLIGHT kept on for second place, while FLEETWATER stayed on at one pace to finish third.

Turning to the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes (Class 4), the contest developed into a promising battle among newcomers before THE HARV asserted in the closing stages to win in 1m 14.87s under Oisin Murphy for trainer M. D. Evans. LEUCOTHEA stayed on for second, while CAVAN LADY secured third.

In the Weatherbys/British EBF Agnes Keyser Fillies’ Stakes (Class 1 Listed), the race developed into a strong stamina test, with VENETIA showing determination in the final stages to prevail in 2m 14.27s under Hector Crouch for trainer Ralph Beckett, owned by Cayton Park Stud Limited. LADY DORA MAE ran on into second, while DELLA PACE completed the frame in third.

Midway through the card, the Billy Vigar Handicap Stakes (Class 3) became a searching test of endurance, where IN THE BREEZE was delivered late to perfection to secure victory in 3m 36.42s under Cieren Fallon for trainer Henrietta Knight, owned by J & A Young (Racing) Limited. MAXIDENT held on for second after a brave effort, with ACROSS EARTH finishing third.

In the Tapster Stakes (Class 1 Listed), a strongly run contest saw TENABILITY travel smoothly before producing a decisive turn of foot to land the spoils in 2m 44.53s under Cieren Fallon for trainer William Haggas, owned by Miss Yvonne Jacques. HAMISH stayed on for second, while GLEN BUCK took third after a consistent effort.

Finally, in the concluding Elston Support Your Local Air Ambulance Handicap Stakes (Class 4), the pace steadied before quickening late, with RARE CHANGE emerging strongly to secure victory in 1m 31.69s under Finley Marsh for trainer Richard Hughes, owned by Mrs J Woods and Mr K Lawrence. DR STRANGELOVE finished second, while BLUE PRINCE completed the placings in third.
