The Nawab M Arshad Ali Khan Memorial Cup, Race 5 of the Bangalore Turf Club Summer Meeting (BTC – Bangalore Turf Club), run under Class I conditions for horses rated 80 and above over 1400M at 04:30 PM on Saturday, 6th June 2026, produced a gripping finish as XANTHE, owned by Mr C Aryama Sundaram, delivered a sharp late surge to clinch victory in a tightly fought contest.

The Bangalore race result 6th June once again highlighted the depth of quality in the higher-rated division, with margins remaining razor-thin from start to finish.

From the break, the pace was genuine, with early trackers ensuring there was no breathing space for any contender. XANTHE was settled in mid-division by Hindu Singh, conserving energy while tracking the leaders. As the field swung into the straight, the race tightened dramatically, but XANTHE responded with a determined turn of foot in the final 150 metres to edge ahead and seal victory by the narrowest of margins.

Runner-up honours went to KALAMITSI, ridden by A. Sandesh and trained by S.S. Attaollahi, who produced a strong late effort but missed out by a whisker, clocking 1:26.82. MANDARINO, under Pavan and trained by Irfan Ghatala, stayed on steadily to secure third place in 1:27.06, completing a closely bunched top trio.

With just fractions separating the leading finishers, the contest underlined the competitive nature of Class I racing at Bangalore, where timing and precision proved decisive once again.

Attention now shifts to the next event on the card, The Rare Gem Plate DIV I, scheduled for 05:00 PM, expected to maintain the day’s strong competitive tempo.
