Among the country’s leading racing centres, Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) will present a competitive six-race afternoon programme on Sunday, 7 June. The fixture will offer more than Rs.49 lakh in prize money and will bring together maidens, progressive handicappers and higher-rated performers across distances ranging from 1,200 metres to 1,600 metres. Scheduled to commence at 2:30 PM and conclude at 5:00 PM, the meeting will be headlined by the H.H. Krishnaraja Wadiyar Cup, which will carry the richest purse of the afternoon.
Opening proceedings, the Mystic Memory Plate, a Class III contest for horses rated 40 to 65, will be run at 2:30 PM over 1,400 metres for prize money of Rs.6,30,000. Akshay Kumar will partner EAGLE EYE, while Yash Narredu will take the ride on SICYON and Vishal Shivhare will be aboard BADSHAAH. STRAVINSKY, under Rajesh Kumar M., will add further strength to the field, while HAZEL, ZEPHYRINE, FLIGHT OF FANCY and GLORIOUS STRIDES will also line up for the opening event.
Next on the afternoon programme, the Nandi Plate, a Class IV race for horses rated 20 to 45, will be contested at 3:00 PM over 1,400 metres with a purse of Rs.5,10,000. S. Sachin will ride DYNAMIC FORCE, Vishwa V. will partner EL ALAMEIN and Antony Raj S. will be aboard SOUTHERN FORCE. Rajesh Kumar M. will team up with SASSY, while SUPER KIND, SUNLIT PATH, ELVEDEN, STAR COMET, CHISOX, SEA DIAMOND, BRUCE ALMIGHTY and PERIDOT will complete a competitive line-up.
Attention will then turn to the CNN Family and Friends Legacy Trophy, a maiden event restricted to three-year-olds. Scheduled for 3:30 PM over 1,200 metres and worth Rs.11,00,000, the contest will offer the largest field of developing runners on the card. Rayan Ahmed R. will partner BHAGYA, Vivek G. will ride CALIX and K. Sai Kiran will be aboard HEIMIRICH. Akshay Kumar will guide LEGACY FIELD, while FORTISSIMA, REGAL BEAUTY, SAVANNA STORM and SENSUOUS will also seek to open their winning accounts.
The quality of the card will rise further in the Speaker’s Cup, a Class II sprint for horses rated 60 to 85. Run at 4:00 PM over 1,200 metres for prize money of Rs.7,00,000, the contest will feature several accomplished performers. DON CARLOS, to be ridden by Asirvatham, will be among the leading runners, while S. Sachin will partner RIEKO and Arul J. H. will be aboard POWER OF BEAUTY. Vishal will ride DUN IT AGAIN, with JERSEY KING, N R I ACE, SENOR CHERIE, BEZAWADA SULTAN, VICTORIA DORESAANI and FLIGHT ON adding further depth to the field.
Occupying centre stage on the card, the H.H. Krishnaraja Wadiyar Cup for horses aged four years and over will be run at 4:30 PM over 1,600 metres and will offer prize money of Rs.14,60,000. Akshay Kumar will partner REDEFINED, Vivek G. will take the ride on ZUCCARO and Antony Raj S. will be aboard MAYNE MAGIC. POSITANO and SIEGE COURAGEOUS will complete the select field assembled for the afternoon’s feature contest.
Drawing the curtain on the day’s action, the Astounding Plate, a Class IV contest for horses rated 20 to 45, will conclude the programme at 5:00 PM over 1,600 metres for a purse of Rs.5,10,000. Akshay Kumar will ride PLEDGE, A.A. Vikrant will partner UNFORGETTABLE STAR and Antony Raj S. will be aboard AMAZING STRIDE. Vishal N. Bunde will guide ZILFEE, while IMPERADOR, QUEENDOM, RAZZMATAZZ, DR ASH, TURF PARADISE, AGAPE, BIG SAUCE and SUPERHERO will also be among the runners in the closing event.
The Bangalore Race Cards 7 June fixture will feature six races worth more than Rs.49 lakh in prize money, highlighted by the H.H. Krishnaraja Wadiyar Cup and a valuable maiden contest for three-year-olds at Bangalore Turf Club.
