One of India’s most established and prestigious racing venues, Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) will host a competitive six-race afternoon programme on Saturday, 6 June. The fixture will bring together maiden performers, progressive handicappers and higher-graded runners across a varied card worth more than ₹43 lakh in prize money. Scheduled between 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM, the meeting will feature races over distances ranging from 1200 metres to 1800 metres, highlighted by the Class I Nawab M Arshad Ali Khan Memorial Cup and supported by a number of competitive handicap contests.
Opening proceedings on the card, The Ascot Plate will be run at 2:30 PM as a maiden contest for three-year-olds over 1400 metres with prize money of ₹11,00,000. AVENER will be partnered by A. Sandesh, while Vivek G. will ride BUREVESTNIK, Antony Raj S. will be aboard SHINING PATH and A. Ashhad Asbar will take the mount on TWILIGHT KING. EXOTIC BLACK and SHRISHTI will also feature in the six-runner field as a group of lightly raced youngsters seek to make their mark.
Attention will then turn to The Rare Gem Plate (Division II) at 3:00 PM. The Class IV sprint for horses rated 20 to 45 will be contested over 1200 metres and will offer prize money of ₹5,10,000. ZAYANA will be ridden by Pavan, JALWA by Asirvatham, VIBRANT QUEEN by K. Sai Kiran and THE GOLDEN DREAM by Rajesh Kumar M. JOYFUL SPIRIT, LIGHTNING BLITZ, DETECTIVE CONAN, HUSHED and FIERY LOVE will complete a competitive nine-runner field.
A sizeable field will assemble for The Santorini Star Plate at 3:30 PM. The Class V event for horses rated 0 to 25 will be run over 1400 metres and will carry a purse of ₹4,50,000. SD GOOD SAM will have Vishal Shivhare in the saddle, STELLA MARIS will be partnered by Pavan, VAFADAR by Mohd Talib and QUEEN MAXIMA by Faizan Khan. VERSACE, EQUALIZER, INFINITE SPIRIT, LEGENDARY IMPACT, PRINCESS JASMINE, EMBOSOM, GOLDEN GALLERY and RECREATOR will also take their chances in the largest field of the afternoon.
The middle stages of the programme will feature The Brig. R.C.R. Hill Memorial Trophy, scheduled for 4:00 PM. Run over 1800 metres for Class III horses rated 40 to 65, the contest will be worth ₹6,30,000 and will provide the longest test on the card. WINFIELD will be partnered by Antony Raj S., CACCINI by Vivek G., MAANA by A. Sandesh and YOUREMANORBORNE by K. Pranil. MOON STAR, MULTI SUCCESS and SUPER SPLASH will complete a compact but competitive seven-runner line-up.
Taking centre stage during the afternoon, The Nawab M Arshad Ali Khan Memorial Cup will be run at 4:30 PM as the feature event of the meeting. The Class I contest for horses rated 80 and above will be staged over 1400 metres and will offer prize money of ₹11,00,000. TOUCH OF GREY will be ridden by M. Prabhakaran, GLOBAL INFLUENCE by Suraj Narredu, MANDARINO by Pavan and KALAMITSI by A. Sandesh. STAR GLORY and XANTHE will also line up in a quality six-horse field featuring several accomplished performers and some of the highest-rated runners on the programme.
Bringing the meeting to a close, The Rare Gem Plate (Division I) will be staged at 5:00 PM over 1200 metres for Class IV horses rated 20 to 45. The concluding race of the afternoon will carry prize money of ₹5,10,000. AGERA will be partnered by A.R. Pradeep, SAPPORO by Pavan, SOLARA by A. Sandesh and FEMME FATALE by Rushal G.A. MNEMOSYNE, CHOTIPARI, CARAT LOVE, BLIND FAITH and XAILY will also feature in the final sprint of the programme.
The six-race card will provide a balanced blend of emerging talent, established handicappers and higher-class performers, ensuring a competitive afternoon of racing at Bangalore Turf Club.
