The fourth race of the Bangalore Summer Meeting, held at Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) on Sunday, 31 May 2026, featured The S. G. Madhukar Memorial Trophy, a Class III contest for horses rated 40 to 65 over 1400 metres. Run at 3:30 PM, the race produced an impressive performance from ALFONSINE, who stormed to victory under A. Ashhad Asbar for trainer Pradeep Annaiah, stopping the clock at 1:28.35. Owned by Mr P Arun Kumar, the winner delivered a polished display to secure top honours in one of the afternoon’s competitive handicaps.
As the Bangalore race result 31 May continued to unfold at BTC, ALFONSINE settled comfortably through the early stages before producing a decisive challenge in the straight. A. Ashhad Asbar timed his run to perfection, allowing the gelding to build momentum approaching the final furlong. Once asked for maximum effort, ALFONSINE responded strongly and stretched clear, maintaining a commanding advantage all the way to the winning post.
The runner-up position went to ZAYYAN, ridden by Yash Narredu and trained by P. Shroff, who finished in 1:29.65 after staying on gamely in pursuit of the winner. SUNSHINE, partnered by Suraj Narredu for trainer Irfan Ghatala, completed the placings in 1:29.97, producing a respectable effort to secure third place.
With The S. G. Madhukar Memorial Trophy concluded, attention quickly turned to the next major contest on the card, the Bangalore Turf Club Karnataka Juvenile Million, scheduled for 4:00 PM, where some of the meeting’s most promising young talents were set to take centre stage.
