After a long break since the last race day on 03 December 2025, racing returns to Mysore Race Club on 27 May 2026 with an exciting eight-race programme set to unfold across the afternoon and evening. The Mysore Racecourse will stage a well-balanced mix of competitive handicaps and class events, where emerging talent and seasoned campaigners will step into action across varying distances and conditions. The spotlight, however, will firmly rest on Race 6, the prestigious The Season Opener Trophy, carrying a substantial prize purse of Rs.7,00,000, and expected to set the tone for the closing stages of the day.
Mysore racecards 27 may. – Feature Race Builds Late-Day Excitement
The sixth contest of the day, The Season Opener Trophy (Class II | Horse Rated 60 and above), scheduled for 4:00 p.m., will serve as the feature attraction of the meeting. To be run over 1400 M, this high-value contest is likely to draw some of the strongest contenders on the card, each aiming to assert dominance in a race that often proves pivotal in shaping seasonal momentum. With top-class runners expected to assemble, the atmosphere around this race will gradually intensify as the day progresses.
Earlier in the day, proceedings will commence at 01:30 PM with The Dubare Forest Plate DIV II (Class V: Horse Rated 00 to 25) over 1200 M, offering a total prize money of Rs.3,75,000. This opening contest will set the early rhythm of the meeting as participants look to establish a strong start.
At 02:00 PM, attention will shift to The Melukote Plate (Class IV: Horse Rated 20 to 45) over 1400 M, carrying Rs.4,50,000 in prize money. Shortly after, the action will continue at 02:30 PM with The Dubare Forest Plate DIV I, again for Class V runners rated 00 to 25 over 1200 M, matching the earlier division in structure and stakes.
The mid-card phase will feature The Kushalnagar Plate DIV II at 03:00 PM, a Class IV contest over 1200 M with Rs.4,50,000 on offer, followed by The Beloved Prince Plate at 3:30 p.m., a sharper Class III sprint over 1100 M carrying Rs.5,75,000 in prize money.
Post-feature race action will continue with The Kushalnagar Plate Div I at 4:30 p.m. (Class IV, 1200 M, Rs.4,50,000), before the meeting concludes with The Trombay Plate at 5:00 p.m., a Class III contest over 1400 M also offering Rs.5,75,000.
Across the card, a total blend of sprint specialists and middle-distance contenders will ensure sustained tactical variation, with each division presenting its own competitive narrative.
