A seven-race Flat programme will take place at Leicester Racecourse on Tuesday, 26 May, featuring juvenile races, novice contests, fillies’ events and handicap action throughout the afternoon schedule. Race distances will range from 6 furlongs to 1 mile and 2 furlongs, while prize funds across the card will range between £6,000 and £10,000, with the British EBF Maiden Stakes standing as the feature contest on the programme.

Opening the afternoon programme, the British EBF Maiden Stakes (Class 4) will begin at 2:10pm and will feature 11 two-year-olds competing over 6 furlongs for a £10,000 prize fund. Captaincy, High Calibre, Lion O, Miami To Ibiza, Rattenbury and Savage Mariner are among the expected runners. The opening race will likely provide an early opportunity for several juveniles to establish themselves at the beginning of their campaigns.

Attention will then shift to the next contest, the Premier Exhibition Venue Stakes (Class 5) at 2:40pm, where six two-year-olds will race over 7 furlongs for £7,000 in prize money. Abrahamsen, Jazzy Bay, Parading, Village Hall, Bluestone Lady and Showmethebubbles are expected participants. With a smaller field assembled, tactical positioning may become increasingly significant during the latter stages.

The middle portion of the card will continue with the British EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes (Class 4) at 3:10pm, carrying a £10,000 purse over 1 mile and 53 yards for three-year-old fillies. A field of six runners, including El Vamos, Seet, Caim, Crownright, Harlequin Breeze and Molo Del Palazzo, will line up. Several runners are expected to arrive with limited racecourse exposure, creating an interesting contest for developing fillies.

Competitive handicap action will then come into focus in the Handicap Stakes (Class 6) at 3:40pm, where 11 three-year-olds will compete over 7 furlongs for £6,000. Hatamoto, Elashgar, Zoulette, She’s Crafty, Giles Glory and Telling Time are among the declared runners. The larger field size could contribute to a stronger pace and increase the competitive nature of the contest.

As the meeting progresses through the afternoon, the next Handicap Stakes (Class 6) at 4:10pm will bring together nine runners aged four years and above over 1 mile and 2 furlongs, with £6,000 available in prize money. Study Up, Cartwheel, San Francisco Bay, Staffordshire, Beauty Generation and Happy Chandler are among those expected to feature. The longer trip is likely to place additional emphasis on stamina and race management.

Sprint specialists will then take centre stage in the Fillies’ Handicap Stakes (Class 5) at 4:40pm, featuring 10 three-year-old fillies competing over 6 furlongs for £7,000. Frantic, Yasalam, Polka Blue, Perineighs, Nebbia and Filly Foden are among the runners expected to appear. Sprint races of this nature frequently produce closely matched finishes and strong late challenges.

Bringing the afternoon fixture to a close, the final Handicap Stakes (Class 5) at 5:12pm will see five three-year-olds contest 1 mile and 2 furlongs for £7,000 in prize money. Zipwire, Alice de Clare, Zooter, Pentonville and Fille Imbassee complete the expected field. The smaller line-up may place greater importance on tactical decisions and race timing.

The Tuesday fixture at Leicester will bring together a balanced mix of juvenile prospects, developing fillies and established handicap performers across seven races. With the £10,000 British EBF Maiden Stakes leading the programme and competitive contests scheduled throughout the afternoon, Leicester Race Cards 26 May will provide a varied test across sprint and middle-distance conditions while offering several runners an opportunity to build momentum during the Flat season.
